Title: Amused to Death
Post by: KevShmev on July 18, 2010, 11:40:40 PM
So good.  Not only the one true shining moment of Roger Waters' solo career, but one of the best and most chilling rock CDs ever.

Feel to appreciate this magnificent record. :hat

Great album, definitely the best Water's solo album. :metal

Really good album, his only solo album that I find interesting really, unless you count The Final Cut.

I love the songs, it's just that I can never listen to the entire thing. I just can't keep interested in it for long.

If you are a Pink Floyd fan, absolutely.

'What God Wants' is okay, and I acknowledge the obvious genius that is presented on this album. That said, I can't stand it at all. All the 3D audio effects and samples get on my nerves, and I hate how loud he mixed his own vocals. I'm going to give the album a few more chances though, because I still can't understand why I wouldn't like anything Pink Floyd related.

Hmmm, I have never thought of his vocals being mixed too loud or anything like that.  The effects don't bother me, although it would be a killer nap or falling asleep CD, if not for the brief bits of ringing telephones and explosions. :lol

The back to back of "Perfect Sense" and "The Bravery of Being out of Range" is just too awesome.

Pure Genius.

I would pay big money to hear the whole thing done live (like that would ever happen).

There are days that I wake up and think it's the best thing he's ever been a part of.

I've always been intrigued by this album. I remember hearing him do an interview when it came out and I thought it was a great concept. But I've never been a Pink Floyd/Waters fan so I left it alone. I've come pretty close in my old age of picking it up a few times, but just haven't pulled the trigger.

I only have Radio K.A.O.S., but that left a bad taste in my mouth.  I'll check it out.

I've been meaning to buy his solo stuff... I should get on that... when I have money and I'm out of debt FROM HIS OVERPRICED CONCERT TICKETS.
