woooooahhhh woooOOOooooh WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAH

I have always thought the intro to Innocence Faded would make a good ringtone, don't know why. I think Overture 1928 when the band comes in would be cool too.

I had the the guitar solo from IF as my ringtone before and it worked wonderfully.
-
Noted Overture 1928, and ill definatly try Innocence Faded's solo in a minute !
-
For me, when the guitars come in on Nightmare to Remember...in fact I might make that ringtone right now
-
"Take all of me
The desires that keep burning deep inside
Cast them all away
And help to give me strength to face another day
I am ready
Help me be what I can be"
Chorus from TROAE
-
In The Name Of God's unison.
-
My ring back for the longest time was Caught in a Webs chorus, but the end of Metropolis Part One "When the leaves have fallen.." to the end would work well.
-
The outro of Learning To Live.
-
The ending of This dying soul (more like 55 seconds, but whatever) :tup
-
i think hes looking for the best of dt, not the craziest.
however point noted tds unison is :metal
problem is, if i had a dt ringtone, i would wait for the ring to end at least once before answering.

Opposed to this, I think Innocence Faded Outro can be an awesome ringtone.

My thoughts exactly!!
-
I'm using the part of The Best of Times when all the instruments enter in the beginning. That works.

nice im gonna make that right now!

In the Name of God section with the the drum fills before the final chorus. I got shivers when they played it live.
-
thanks for all the answers, its appreciated
-
Home's riff, prechorus, chorus, or solo sections would work well. Or the outro unison. OR! The Blind Faith solo section, any of it. OR THE GLASS PRISON RIFF. Ok I'll stop.
-
if you want to grab your attention instantly... try THE MIRROR intro... it used to be my ring tone as well as my alarm clock tone.. or set up sometimes for sms tone..

I had that for my sms tone before it would always make me jump
-
If I was going to do this I might choose the keyboard solo at 12minutes in Octavarium.
-
For a long while I used the intro to Metropolis, pt.1. Has a ring-ish tone to it.
-
I had the intro to Honor Thy Father as a text ring for a while. Lost it when I switched cell phones :(
-
The chorus in Medicate.
-
I actually use the intro to Solitary Shell for my ringtone, and it's actually pretty great for a ringtone. It's not too jarring for others to hear it, but it's still a cool acoustic pattern and makes me happy to hear it every time I get a phone call. Not to mention, people around me generally like it and ask about DT as well :D
-
"Sucking on his pipe" on a 45 second loop.
-
I am the KILLING haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand
WDADU version, of course.
-
How about "New Millennium?" The intro kinda sounds like a ringtone anyway :lol
Or, if you really wanted to annoy people, the intro to their cover of "Stargazer."
-
RIght now I'm actually using the beginning 30 seconds or so of "The Spider" by Kansas. Good, fast-paced. My son loves it. I actually had a customer of mine recognize it! I was surprised, as not too many people could recognize it from only a second or two. Unless they are big Kansas fans.
Is it wrong that I have the Darth Vader theme set up for when my wife calls me?
-
mines the begining of Universal mind. and i love it
-
I set mine to the keyboard lead in The Count Of Tuscany (2:36-3:06).
-
Use the piano intro from "Through My Words." It is soft, it is nice, and it won't scare the hell out of you every time your phone rings.
-
I have LaBrie singing "message" from 'The Silent Man' ("Or a message with no receiver?"), funnily enough as my text message tone. Well worth it, despite the occasional funny looks folk give me when it goes off...
-
I have the beginning of This Dying Soul as mine, and as an alarm clock atm. Pretty funny when it goes off accidentally in lectures.
-
I used to use from the acoustic break in Octavarium (you know the one in the instrumental section where the acoustic does that little riff alone) until about 30 seconds past that. I always enjoyed it.
-
"Sucking on his pipe" on a 45 second loop.
Side note: I am totally going to attempt to make this into a ringtone sometime this week.

I had the James Bond theme as my main tone and it scared the hell out of me every time someone called.

I have the main riff from "Killing is My Business..." as my ringtone...if I get a call and I'm sleeping, I wake up pretty freaked out.
-
Space -Dye Vest's intro.
-
WOMP WOMP
-
The beginning to Honor They Father.
-
Ba-da-ba-da-ba ba-da-ba-da DAAAA
from the end of This Dying Soul!
:metal
-
Forget Dream Theater. Just put Roboturner by Between the Buried and Me as your ringtone.
-
Learning to Live's F#
-
Octavarium
23:00-end
-
*bang, bang*
AAHHHHHHH AHH AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Open your eyes Victoria!
*bang*
Aahh.....
When I had roommates in university I made that the sound that is played whenever someone initiated a AIM conversation with me. They never got used to it even after a year or so.
-
*Intense double bass*
DAY AFTER DAY
AND NIGHT AFTER NIGHT
-
the start of the intsrumental sexion for solitary shell would be pretty :metal. I should do that, if I knew how

"Sexion" is a fitting way to describe it.

ACOS 12:18-12:37

at first it was a typo, then I realised it pretty much described my feelings for it :lol
-
The beginning to Honor They Father.
that's a scary choice.
as some of you mentioned i prefer the acoustic guitar cords at the beginning of solitery shell.
-
oh, i got it. the most suitable DT song for ringtone would be the creative distinctive keyboard solo riff (i don't know how to categorize it), i think it would be advisable to choose the section played by derek sherinian in that bootleg birthday album.
-
I used that funny piano part from The Dance of Eternity for ages. Works really well!
-
Paradigm shift ofc!! :D the intro ofc
ITPOE pt1 Intro aswell
Or maybe the fast guitar part on The Best of times
-
Best 45 seconds of DT is the last 45 seconds of "Losing Time / Grand Finale"
-
Paradigm shift ofc!! :D the intro ofc
Re: The best 45 seconds ( or so ) of DT
-
But...WOW! what a big deal... -.- seriuosly man...
-
Paradigm shift ofc!! :D the intro ofc
Re: The best 45 seconds ( or so ) of DT
Who cares man..
Anyway, I made a few for my iPhone over the years. I think it's time for some new ringtones.
• Learning To Live - outro
• Misunderstood - from beginning
• The Best Of Times - 8:49 when JLB says, "that carried me for miiiiles." That part, except it's the instrumental version of the song that came with the special edition
• V. Goodnight Kiss - 1:51 Beautiful
-
Paradigm shift ofc!! :D the intro ofc
Re: The best 45 seconds ( or so ) of DT

I don't understand this. The guy's answer wasn't DT.
-
Exactly.
-
The bands are related. I doubt the OP cares that an LTE song was suggested. It's not an issue. Move on.
-
I had the intro to Honor Thy Father as a text ring for a while.
Me too! But ringtone rather than text.
-

Haha that is my ringtone right now. Always gets some attention on the bus. For when I don't want to scare the public though I change it to Selkies. My text tone is the first 2 seconds of Mordecai, cut it off just before the vocals start. It's awesome
