Should the max number of artists in the EP round be increased from 4 to 5?

3.   Your good run seems to be continuing.
8.   The emotional narrative here is quite captivating.
20.   There’s a blend of upbeat and morbid here that sounds compelling.
23.   Moody, weighty, but actually pretty accessible and really immersive.
29.   The flow feels kind of disjointed, but I do love the theme that binds it all together.
34.   The middle part of this is solid enough, but the beginning and end are really fantastic.
41.   It’s very varied, which is exciting although after one listen I’m not sure how well it all fits together.
43.   There’s an element I’m not yet sure about on its own, but it seems to balance with the rest of the EP.

OK I'll guess that mine are somewhere among these.

3.   Your good run seems to be continuing.
4.   I’m enjoying the fun, energetic metal here.
7.   The coherence and storytelling is rather great.
8.   The emotional narrative here is quite captivating.
11.   I think this might be the best thing you’ve ever sent me.
12.   There’s a really consistent vibe throughout this whole EP.
16.   Not yet convinced by the ending, but the rest sounds excellent.
18.   Almost every single thing about this is EXACTLY what I expected.
21.   Everything sounds enjoyable and talented but not much stands out.
26.   Overall, there’s some really good, crunchy stuff, but the quality isn’t consistent.
29.   The flow feels kind of disjointed, but I do love the theme that binds it all together.
31.   Nice mix of epicness, atmosphere and groove that somehow doesn’t feel disjointed.
32.   The consistency in both quality and sound here really makes it feel like a genuine EP.
42.   This is some ferocious stuff – I dig the intensity but I’m not sure all the music is grabbing me so far.

How many of these are mine?
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

building decent transition on this EP was hard  :lol
you should hear the transition i made on a post-roulette EP I sent Indi, where i transitioned from the end of Amadeus Awad's Lonesome Clown (the "Death is Just a Feeling" monologue) to fun.'s Take Your Time (Coming Home) (ooh da na na, ooh da na na). i don't think i'll ever top that in terms of sheer ridiculous but yeah I couldn't really get anything to work out of those two but they -had- to be the penultimate and final tracks on the EP so

of everything else left, i removed all the ones that couldn't even possibly be mine:
2.   This seems like a bit of a mixed bag.
3.   Your good run seems to be continuing.
6.   There’s some gorgeous, emotional stuff here.
10.   It reminds me of a couple of other artists I rather enjoy.
11.   I think this might be the best thing you’ve ever sent me.
12.   There’s a really consistent vibe throughout this whole EP.
14.   One of these artists I’m digging a lot more than I expected.
15.   Nothing out of the ordinary but damn it’s really lovely stuff.
16.   Not yet convinced by the ending, but the rest sounds excellent.
18.   Almost every single thing about this is EXACTLY what I expected.
19.   The theme is fun, though might be at risk of backfiring somewhat.
20.   There’s a blend of upbeat and morbid here that sounds compelling.
21.   Everything sounds enjoyable and talented but not much stands out.
22.   I’m not sure I love all of it, some of the tracks are maybe a little dull.
24.   This was a bit more varied than I expected, and the guitar work is nice.
25.   It’s all perfectly enjoyable, but perhaps a bit middle-of-the-road to my tastes.
26.   Overall, there’s some really good, crunchy stuff, but the quality isn’t consistent.
28.   Half of it sounds pretty awesome, although the other half is a lot less interesting.
29.   The flow feels kind of disjointed, but I do love the theme that binds it all together.
30.   One of these artists sounds so much better than my previous experience with them.
33.   There’s a couple of duds, but the rest is very cool and kind of unique to this roulette.
34.   The middle part of this is solid enough, but the beginning and end are really fantastic.
35.   Some of this was kind of unexpected, some of it less so, and it’s a really interesting mix.
36.   There are some great moments but it doesn’t sound as consistent or coherent as I’d like.
41.   It’s very varied, which is exciting although after one listen I’m not sure how well it all fits together.
43.   There’s an element I’m not yet sure about on its own, but it seems to balance with the rest of the EP.

it's not half and half, but it's a start
You're not 44, but both of your impressions are among the ones you selected.

13.   It’s over-the-top, but I can’t help grinning from ear to ear.
19.   The theme is fun, though might be at risk of backfiring somewhat.
37.   The music is nicely theatrical and it all sounds at least pretty good, some of it even great.
44.   There’s a nice variety of styles but it’s incredibly consistent tonally, which makes it feel very convincing.

Not confident I'm 44, worried I'm 19, likely to be 13 and/or 37.
Katt is 13
13 is right! The other one is not in Katt's selection though.

22 and 29.
No and no.

23 and 31. Maybe 11 too.
No x3.

4, 13, 18, 19, 21, 25, 26, 29, 38, 39, 42.  All possible options for mine.
You've captured one of yours, but the other is not in your selection.

EP first impressions
Two impressions per submission. Have fun!

1.   Powerful, proggy and very emotive.
2.   This seems like a bit of a mixed bag.
3.   Your good run seems to be continuing.
4.   I’m enjoying the fun, energetic metal here.
5.   A very nice selection of pretty emotive prog.
6.   There’s some gorgeous, emotional stuff here.
7.   The coherence and storytelling is rather great.
8.   The emotional narrative here is quite captivating.
9.   There’s an enjoyable, intense groove to most of this.
10.   It reminds me of a couple of other artists I rather enjoy.
11.   I think this might be the best thing you’ve ever sent me.
12.   There’s a really consistent vibe throughout this whole EP.
13.   It’s over-the-top, but I can’t help grinning from ear to ear. [Katt]
14.   One of these artists I’m digging a lot more than I expected.
15.   Nothing out of the ordinary but damn it’s really lovely stuff.
16.   Not yet convinced by the ending, but the rest sounds excellent.
17.   The storytelling and general build-up here seem pretty magical.
23.   Moody, weighty, but actually pretty accessible and really immersive.
24.   This was a bit more varied than I expected, and the guitar work is nice.
25.   It’s all perfectly enjoyable, but perhaps a bit middle-of-the-road to my tastes.
26.   Overall, there’s some really good, crunchy stuff, but the quality isn’t consistent.
27.   There’s a lovely ambience to half of this, and a great energy to most of the rest.
28.   Half of it sounds pretty awesome, although the other half is a lot less interesting.
29.   The flow feels kind of disjointed, but I do love the theme that binds it all together.
30.   One of these artists sounds so much better than my previous experience with them.
31.   Nice mix of epicness, atmosphere and groove that somehow doesn’t feel disjointed.
32.   The consistency in both quality and sound here really makes it feel like a genuine EP.
37.   The music is nicely theatrical and it all sounds at least pretty good, some of it even great.
38.   There’s a really coherent vibe to all this, but enough variety to keep it interesting as well.
39.   It’s fairly heavy and stylistically consistent, but there’s enough variety too to keep it interesting.
40.   Stylistically nothing particularly unusual about it, but it’s highly enjoyable and kind of bombastic.
41.   It’s very varied, which is exciting although after one listen I’m not sure how well it all fits together.
42.   This is some ferocious stuff – I dig the intensity but I’m not sure all the music is grabbing me so far.
43.   There’s an element I’m not yet sure about on its own, but it seems to balance with the rest of the EP.

From a Mega Man Legends island jamming power metal to a Walrus listening to black metal, I like your story arc.

Hurray! Let's be even bolder and say 7 or 17 as my other one?
17 it is, congrats on being the first person to identify both of your impressions!

EP first impressions
Two impressions per submission. Have fun!

6.   There’s some gorgeous, emotional stuff here.
12.   There’s a really consistent vibe throughout this whole EP.
15.   Nothing out of the ordinary but damn it’s really lovely stuff.
16.   Not yet convinced by the ending, but the rest sounds excellent.
22.   I’m not sure I love all of it, some of the tracks are maybe a little dull.
25.   It’s all perfectly enjoyable, but perhaps a bit middle-of-the-road to my tastes.
32.   The consistency in both quality and sound here really makes it feel like a genuine EP.
43.   There’s an element I’m not yet sure about on its own, but it seems to balance with the rest of the EP.

I am 100% convinced that 16 is mine. The second one could be 43, which is basically the same impression using other words. All the rest could apply as well.
