Bass guitar will never be the guitar!

Aren't bass players the guys that are too cool to fire from the band, but not good enough guitar players to actually stay?   :)

I kid, I kid.  Tell that to Chris Squire or John Myung (but let's leave Ian Hill out of this).

Yeah, it's all good. I intended it to be banned but I should've mentioned it in the theme explicitly.

Oh, as for the no-guitar theme, it gets worse... I'm going to have to deduct some points this round.

The time restriction on my group's bummed me out. I literally had a song from Zierler called 'No Chorus' that would've been perfect, but it wasn't between 6 and 8 minutes. :( Does anyone besides Puppies know that Zierler album, btw? I initially sent 'Aggrezzor' but thought it was too obnoxious and all over the place.

Katy... are you talking ESC?  I know that album, but wasn't overly fond of it. Kelly Carpenter is very hit-and-miss for me. I love his voice, but he seems to lend his voice to less that ideal music for my tastes.

Spoiler alert, songs are now listed in order of rating. :neverusethis:

I don't listen to Zierler much. The music is too grandiose, too dark, too patchwork, too all over the map for me to listen to regularly. I do like Kelly Carpenter but that is an issue I have with a lot of the projects he's been involved with. I keep Zierler in my back pocket to send to prog dogs and fans of super intricate music though. Like, I love the song 'Rainheart' for the first couple minutes but then it goes COMPLETELY off the rails, and most of the songs (including that one) are just too long. Also, Katy  :lol

Hey, it fit the theme. That's why I keep it in my back pocket! I couldn't think of much else right away that avoided the typical song structure in 6-8 minutes :lol

This round has been challenging—I hate to eliminate anyone, especially when it's so tight (I'm looking at you, Group B)

I'm aiming to have results posted by Thursday.

Group C has the tighter cluster of scores - only 3 points separating 1st from 4th.

Unless you meant this round's scoring is tight in group B?
