As much as the verdict surprised me, I doubt anyone following the case was able to form a sound opinion on whether she was guilty or not, including us here at DTF. Thanks to endless commentary which was interwoven with the case itself, we can't dream to get as good of a handle on the case as those jurors did. And what I hate most is when the networks bring a lawyer on to give their opinions. 9 times out of 10, they have no insider information and don't even specialize in the same area, but networks put them up there to BS like the rest of us because it looks more authoritative when you write "Long-Time Defense Attorney" or "Veteran Prosecutor" under someone's name.
All of us following the case were pretty much subject to all the BS that went along with it. At the end of the day, I'd think the jurors still had a better chance of making the right decision than us sitting at home watching the Fox Friends speculate, regardless of how the media framed the dialog. And, hey, the prosecution just didn't have its game together. While this sounds cold, I'd rather have successfully prosecuting people remain held to a high standard, even if that means a potential criminal gets to walk free once in awhile.
