You know, it's very hard to have to eliminate two people.
I can help if you'd like
You don't really have to, because here they are.
First off: eliminating people in this round was MUCH harder than in the first round. I got pretty good songs throughout and I'm very bad at disappointing people apparently. I don't really want to lose anyone playing, but I also didn't want to get stuck in some point scoring system. Hell, that's the whole reason I decided to simply eliminate people instead, so here we have it. I'm really trying to do this as honestly as possible, with simply the weakest song in a round being eliminated and this is how it turned out for this round: Alrighty then, here we are with the results for round 2!!
Straight on through to the next round: Participant: jingle.boy
Band: Epysode
Song: Obsessions
Right after round 1 had finished, Mr. Jingle announced in a Wednesday night chat session at Nick's WPAPU show that the next song he would sent would be one by the band Epysode, off the album that clocked in at #2 on his latest Top 50 lists, just after Flaming Row's Elinore. Well, he did it again, this song is damned amazing and vocally it's indeed awesome, as he said in the PM. Thanks once again man!
Participant: Nekov
Band: Pendragon
Song: The Last Man on Earth
Well, that was all I needed to have it confirmed that I need to listen to Pendragon's other stuff. That was some astounding prog rock goodness. The longest song I have received in any Roulette so far, but considering there were no time-limits except for 'long' and that this song is basically worth every second, I took it. Great!
Participant: kingshmegland
Band: I Mother Earth
Song: Soft Bomb Salad
Well, it takes a little before the band unleashes itself, but then you have something amazing. This is a pretty weird song and my initial listen were along the lines of 'what the hell?', but when the guitars kicked in the whole buildup made sense. That little solo-section is very, very nice and brings the whole piece to a higher level. A very interesting band with a pretty unique sound, I like!
Participant: senecadawg2
Band: Kamelot
Song: Song for Jolee
The single fact that I got a submission from Kamelot was enough to make me realise I should actually listen to this band. I´ve heard people talking about them since forever, but I never gave them a chance. Back when Seventh Wonder singer Tommy Karevik joined Kamelot, I figured I should give the band a try, but still never did. Nelson here obviously knows of and shares my love for MERCY FALLS (
) and thus he sent me a song of theirs with their new 'especially fantastic vocalist'. And the vocalist is really what makes this song really nice. Thanks for confirming I should listen to their stuff.

Where it became a little more difficult: Participant: Onno
Band: Jurojin
Song: The Winter
A pretty straight-forward metal song, but one that manages to keep interest throughout. Of special note are the guitar leads, the little enhancements on the bass guitar tone at certain points and the chorus, which is pretty awesome in itself. Although the lead-singer doesn't have much variety in his singing, his warm voice gives the rest of the song extra depth.
Participant: Lolzeez
Band: Deafheaven
Song: Dream House
I honestly have no idea what to truly think of this. For those unknown with the band, Deafheaven is a band that blends post-rock, shoegaze and black metal to create some of the most intense stuff I've ever heard, while still maintaining clarity and melody. Dubbed album of the year already by many (online) music magazines, Deafheaven have certainly managed to create something distinguished here. At first listen I was pretty floored, but I can imagine myself getting bored with it if I had to endure an album's worth of this music. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it, but I'm not entirely sure whether I
liked it intrinsicly or just because it was different. I'll get back to you at that. Enjoy your stay in my roulette..

Unfortunately eliminated: Participant: Dr. DTVT
Band: Tetrafusion
Song: Monologue
You sent the exact same song to theseoafs in his Roulette and his write-up sort-of sums it all up for me as well. There's some interesting stuff going, but the repetitiveness of riffs and vocal melodies doesn't really propel this song into the awesome category some of the other submissions have achieved. Like theseoafs said, I think this band has a lot of potential, but I'm not sold on them just yet. I'm sorry, but this also means the end in my roulette for you.. Thanks for playing!
Participant: Scorpion
Band: Ihsahn
Song: The Eagle and the Snake
The saxophone is awesome! Like, really fucking mind-blowing awesome! The rest of the song, however.. not so much. The verses are okay I guess, if you can get past Ihsahn's death/black metal vocals, but the chorus is really lackluster and even a little boring if you ask me. I had tried Ihsahn's stuff before and loved the saxophone on there, but I had never heard this song, nor the album it came from, but I'm still unsure whether this is for me or not. I'll keep him in mind when looking for new music, but it's not the first thing I'd go to. I'm sorry, your roulette adventure ends here.. Thanks for playing as well!

So with just 6 participants left we start the rest of this roulette of death. After the first four people have been lost, after every round, just one player will be eliminated until that leaves us with two finalists who'll duel to the end. Or something like that.
Deadline for your Round 3 Submissions is TUESDAY 23:00 GMT (17:00 EST)Also, it will be pretty safe to say that every round in this roulette will be open.
