Well, it's obvious "On The Backs of Angels" will be played. Hoping for "Bridges in The Sky", "Build Me Up, Break Me Down", and "Beneath The Surface"

I think they'll keep most of the songs they played this summer, minus the Count and a couple others.

Predicted setlist:

Bridges In The Sky
Build Me Up, Break Me Down
Under A Glass Moon
These Walls
Forsaken
Endless Sacrifice
Outcry
Caught In A Web
Through My Words
Fatal Tragedy
The Great Debate
On The Backs Of Angels
==encore==
Far From Heaven
Breaking All Illusions

Personally, I'd rather have Peruvian Skies in there instead of Endless Sacrifice, so hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised.
I will shit my pants if they open up my show at NYC with Bridges In The Sky. That's what I always hoped for, but I just assumed they'd do Angels.

LaBrie mentioned that they were leaning towards opening with BITS though.

off of ADTOE, I'm hoping to hear:

On the Backs of Angels
Lost Not Forgotten
This is the Life
Outcry
Breaking All Illusions

I'd rather hear any of those than Bridges in the Sky, but of course I'd still love to see BITS.

Of older material, I'd love to see some of these:

Home
Voices
Blind Faith
Trial of Tears
Lines in the Sand
These Walls
The Great Debate
About to Crash/Losing Time/Grand Finale

here is a setlist I'd love to see:

On the Backs of Angels OR Bridges in the Sky
Lost Not Forgotten
The Great Debate
Home
Outcry
These Walls
This is the Life
Voices
Breaking All Illusions

Encore:
Trial of Tears
About to Crash/Losing Time/Grand Finale

LaBrie mentioned that they were leaning towards opening with BITS though.

"I can see it as the intro to the shows we will be doing on our own headlining tour, that will be really cool I think. "

I suppose there's a lot of room for interpretation in that statement, but I just took it as a throwaway comment about how it might be well suited as an opener.

I'd wanna hear:
Bridges in the Sky
Outcry
Breaking All Illusions

Ballads don't do much for me live, but I'm sure they will throw at least one of them in the set somewhere

Fuck yes! The opening heavy riff is one of the best things they've ever written, I can't wait to have that open the show.  :metal

Outcry, Bridges in the Sky, On the Backs of Angels, and Breaking All Illusions will probably make it.

This would be perfect IMO if they played "This Is The Life" instead of OTBOA...unlikely though.

BITS would be such a great opener  :tup   It's heavy, has a really amazing chorus, and the intro works for a concert opener.

I would actually love it if they did that  :tup

Right now my completely unrealistic dream set list would be something like this:

Set 1) A Dramatic Turn Of Events
Set 2) Scenes From A Memory
Encore) Take The Time / Learning To Live

Lost Not Forgotten would be nice as an opener. It's very powerful. And they could do the same thing they did with ANTR.You know, the curtain while the keys play the intro and then BOOOM!The rest of the setlist won't be the same with Europe, though.MM mentioned that he is preparing for the tour and the only thing that he could reveal was that it would be heavier than the summer tour.

I just want them to close the show with Breaking All Illusions. Or maybe Beneath the Surface, it's got that perfect "goodbye, see you in two years!" kinda feel to it.

Sorry if this has been posted but...

Quote
The gear lists in Mags reflect the studio kit. Live, both kits are different and one is a Reference Pure. That's what will be in the tour book. I'm changing the drum heads for more attack, putting artwork on the kick heads, adding back the EPro pads for percussion and a few other changes. I played the parts on Beneath the Surface with the EPro; Breaking All Illusions has a 6-Cowbell intro part and Lost Not Forgotten has intro Tympani; both of which Jordan tuned perfectly for me !! -MM Facebook

That might mean they are playing LNF, BAI and BTS?

"But, I think the way we have it structured, will make for a very exciting night musically and I think very fulfilling and gratifying to our fans that have been with us from the very beginning right up to the newer fans that are coming on board now or have just recently come on board in the last few years. So, it will make for a very exciting evening musically."

This intrigues me, sounds like he could be alluding to an 'Evening With' type thing. Especially with all the seated venues, which I think Portnoy said (way back when) was a consideration when they started doing the long sets.

Why didn't the Count of Tuscany show up on your list? It's been the 2nd last song of every Euro show.

I know it won't happen, but who else would actually be receptive to them playing the album in its entirety? I feel like it flows so nicely that this would make for a really awesome set.

2h30m setlist is out of the question... that's an "Evening With" duration (Evening with is 3 hrs, with a 15-20 min break).  2 hours is what they typically can do with an opening act.   No reason to believe the would open with something NOT from ADTOE.  Closer and/or encore would be from the album as well.  Not sure how much they would continue to play from the Euro summer tour (which is really a warm up tour).  All in all, I'm hoping for BITS, BAI, LNF, BTS from the album.  Old stuff, I still have yet to see ES, and would really like to (but not counting on it).

Because now they have more new songs they can play, Breaking All Illusions is a great closer, and The Count Of Tuscany is ~20 minutes long. If you're looking for songs to cut to make room for new stuff in a 2 hour set, I'd start there.

I'm hoping for This is the Life, which is rapidly becoming my favorite song on the album. Everything about that song is awesome, and I believe it would really rock live.
In the heart of your most solemn barren night
When your souls turn inside out
Have you questioned all the madness you invite?

This isn't so much what I'm hoping for as what I think. Having seen them this summer, it was obvious that stuff like Endless Sacrifice and TGD were smoking, and were going to make it into the full tour set, while stuff like CIAW was only there as short-term filler. I think BMU,BMD will be added later in the tour.

Hoping and expecting Bridges, Outcry and Illusions. The call and response thing on Breaking All Illusions with the piano, the funk and the organ would be really awesome live!

Also kinda desperately hoping to be able to hear Octavarium live someday. Then my life would pretty much be complete.

I hope you're right.  Absolutely love those two songs.  Despite their lack of appreciation (relative to the rest of the tracks on their respective albums), they were always (and still are) a couple of fav's of mine.
