I wonder why there's lots of people changing "inside"  to "within" in the song title.  I do agree though that within is a more "sophisticated" word.

Probably because 'The Enemy Within' is a Rush song.

The most obvious thing is that its the back of an old persons neck.
Personally, i believe its the close up of a forty year old mans badly shaved penis.

OK, last general warning.  Spam posts are going to be snipped and will start earning people official warnings and bans.

And as far as the single, please keep discussion in the appropriate thread, since a new one was started.

Plead all you want - it's never happened until the album's release has been more or less imminent.

In part, I think, because they always use the inside booklet art. Sure, the designers might do lush things with it on the website, but a compressed icon next to a banner that says "DISCOGRAPHY" is not the best way to reveal your expensively commissioned new artwork to the world.

I think that's going to be the entirety of the single cover. They are spiting us for all of the complaining on the album art cutoff.

Half of the fanbase will approve of the single,
25 percent will not
and still another 25 percent won't be sure what to think.

The skin is much too smooth to be that of an elephant.

I'm getting the impression that this album is gonna sound like Circus Maximus - NINE (less wanking and more accessibility)

I have work that day, so if the single does come up on USA Today at around 11 AM, then hopefully, by 6 PM when I'm done work, the track should be live at all of the alleged servers that RR has partnered up with for this event.

There better be at least a couple songs with some hefty wankery on them. Wankery rules.

 :lol I guess you're right.

Man, since the announcement of the single, this thread had gotten really off track. Well, especially since the announcement.

I've said this before, but the song titles really have me excited. With ADTOE, I felt that the subject matter seemed a bit little more cerebral, and mature than what we were used to from the previous few albums. Song titles like "Enigma Machine" and "Illumination Theory" give the impression that we're in store for a further shift that direction.

I sure hope so. And now that I think about it, maybe the reason why this thread is always going off track is because if we were just talking about the album and the single the entire time, we'd go insane with impatience. Dammit, I want it now!

Well, Enigma Machine is almost definitely the instrumental, so I'm unsure what you can glean from its title.

The song titles are a shift in a completely new direction. These definitely feel more cerebral. Some of the subtitles for IT are really intriguing. I hope to hell that Live Die Kill is a killer heavy section. With a title like that, I don't know how it could be anything but :bnb: IT also has the first foreign language title in DT history, and that's blowing my mind. It'll be even better if it's not an instrumental. That might be asking a bit much though. :lol We'll see.
Everything is immaterial. Do you know that reality is immaterial? This is not reality.

I'm taking everything I've heard, including stuff from Noxon, with a grain of salt until I hear the album myself. For one thing, I can't see DT taking 4-5 months to write a bunch of short, commercial songs. It doesn't add up, unless they spent the bulk of that time on IT. I think there is more there than we are being led to believe.
