Battle of the 5-album runs Vol. 3: Black Sabbath vs Led Zeppelin

Tough to leave out the great 6th albums by both bands, but I thought it was only natural to pit the first five by both against each other.

Both of these are incredible runs, and in some ways, I prefer the Sabbath run, but I like Zeppelin a bit more, and despite them being overplayed by radio, I still listen to them more.

Zeppelin. I like Ozzy-era Sabbath, but my favorite albums are Heaven and Hell & The Mob Rules.

If the question was which was the better live band in that period, Zeppelin, no question. I like that run of Sabbath studio albums better, though, because I rate IV and Houses of the Holy a little lower than a lot of Zep fans. But man, this is CLOSE.
