yeah its alright. Not many stand out tracks but still solid enough to be enjoyable. Will most likely never listen to the full album again but I can see myself coming back to a couple tracks.
Do you read Sutter Cane?

I just finished listening to it for the first time in a very long time. It still gives me chills. I've said it before and I will say it again: this is the greatest album ever written. From front to back it is flawless.

One of the best metal albums ever.

I find those Steelhouse Lane albums quite solid without really being spectacular.  Slamer is a great guitarist.

Well...

I don't know what to say man, I did, opposed to many, really like all the first 3 singles, including the title-track. Nothing all that interesting so far, apart from After the Fire which was a pretty cool track. I haven't heard Chivalry yet so maybe that's good too, but I don't see myself returning to this a lot, apart from maybe 3 or 4 songs.

I like the bonus track more than half the stuff on this album, why does this always happen?

people on this board are actual music fans who developed taste in music and not casual listeners who are following current fashion trends and listening to only current commercial hits.

I feel the same - not sure what to make of it.  It's not as bad as I was expecting, but it's far and away their worst release.  Michael sounds terrific as usual, but the writing and melodies are just flat.  And their "signature" stacatto/off-time drum (snare) cadence is horribly over-used.  I might give it a few more spins on Spotify, but don't see myself purchasing it.

I'm on the live bonus material.  That is fantastic, and I'll definitely be coming back for that.

What did you make of the Myrath bigH? Did absolutely Bugger all for me on first listen. Found it very poppy and Within Temptation / nightwish-ish with eastern sprinkles. So disappointed.

The treatment - generation me

Woah, wait, I didn't know they had another album.  This is Swano's Witherscape isn't it?

EDIT:  Just had to look it up and saw it's like an EP with moslty covers.  i still gotta give this a listen.

my first listen didn't wow me to say the least.  But this was my second go around with the album and I found it more appealing.  Believer, The Needle, Storm of Lies, and Other Side stood out to me as winners this time around.  Overall it definitely doesn't seem to quite have the highs of Tales.

yep, you got it.  Covers from KISS, Priest, and Warrior, and then two new tracks.  The title track was an immediate favorite for me.

I've been on a Neal Morse kick lately—been getting into Spock's Beard and spinning The Light and Beware of Darkness a lot, plus The Grand Experiment and all sorts of Transatlantic, with a little Testimony mixed in there. This is my first listen to this. It's pretty good, just like everything I've heard so far from Neal.

My AOTY so far. Was never into Pop's stuff, but this record's great. Gonna guess that's Josh Homme's influence.

Listening to Kyuss' Welcome to Sky Valley for the first time.

"Hey guys, what if we play really heavy riffs for seventy minutes?"
"Okay, that sounds fun, let's do it".

And a classic (probably) was born.
