I'm not the biggest fan of Chastain period and yeah - it's not as good as Mystery of Illusion.  Just one of those '88 things I am listening to to refresh the memory bank.

the last set, and then I threw in the two DMM EP's and then Oranssi Pazuzu just 'cause

Serdce: i think i got this with my importcds order as a "why not" sort of purchase but then i listened to it a few times and it's actually damn good
CHON: i just. i love this. this is just a sound i enjoy.
EotW: call me in two weeks when i understand this enough to form an opinion. it seemed a bit more on the technical side compared to The Apologist but otherwise the same band i enjoy so
EGO: ugh. actually ugh. i thought i was going to survive the year without purchasing something legitimately bad but i've given this a few listens now and it just does nothing for me. this has less flavor than Bilo 1.0, much less 3.0 which it directly follows. i don't understand why he made this EP
ECO: this on the other hand is excellent, and very much unique in his discography. such chill, wow
Oranssi Pazuzu: i have absolutely no clue why i love this but i do. i can't wait to have this band's entire discography

I'll admit I'm starting to like it way more than when I originally sent you that song, it's a very original approach to instrumental prog (well, mostly instrumental). Let's trade albums shall we?:

Thank You Scientist - Maps of Non-Existent Places: This was probably my most anticipated roulette album and it lived up to my expectations, what an amazing album, I need dis.

Kamelot - The Black Halo: I like the crushing riffs and stuff, I'm still getting used to the singer in some of the softer songs but I feel like it's a huge grower, and I'm already pretty positive about it.

Amplifier - Amplifier: This album is alright, it had a lot of great moments, and overall I really like the atmosphere, not sure if this is as much of a grower as The Black Halo for instance though.

Feed the Horses is actually Michael Jackson gone prog. But yeah I can see this becoming a favorite 2016 purchase, or top 5 at least.

Very nostalgic album. It's puberty sentiment and also a very, very solid album. Complex structures especially for metalcore, and amazing delivery. Love it.

Thank You Scientist is the kitties titties, and Chon is one of my favorite instrumental bands. I'm going to see them with Polyphia in Lawrence on spring break.

Well Brent, I admire the lengths your going to to bring us a definitive 1988 but you are listening to some average stuff  :lol so we don't have to?  :lol

Jj, three great instrumental albums. Joey tafolla wasn't quite up there with the Vinnie Moore and T macs of this world but it's not a bad album. Throw in the Michael lee firkins and the Becker / Friedman albums and that covers the shrapnel essentials.

Basically  :)   I pick up the odd gem though that I had forgotten about .........but yeah , most of them have been forgotten for a reason.  That Craaft album is pretty decent (for the time) and the guy can sure sing.

Fantastic album. Really, I could listen to this one every day.
The album is very flexible, so it has some very heavy punk tracks ("Born Young And Free", "Is It Horrible", "Move, Shake, Hide"), but also very emotional and soft songs ("Captivate You", "Cry", "Hit The Wave", "Back To You") and the singer is doing a damn well job on both styles. I would really recommend to give it a try, even if you`re not necessarily into Punk/Mathcore.

This is something. Atmospheric black metal with Celtic folk influences. I love flute on this album. Anyone who's in this kind of folky black metal should check this out.

Don't worry, with the exception of roulette songs, I'm not gonna check new music for a long time.

I'm not following it yet but I should, there's never enough music to check.
Check the OP, there's a Spotify playlist with the best songs of the roulette so far - great stuff there.
