As in same albums, but different order?

I was just being goofy.  The Odyssey and V are my 1 and 2, in that order (but VERY close).  Then the latest 2 are ranked at 3 and 4, but the order varies depending on my mood.  I am not crazy about the pre-V albums and do not rank them.

To be honest, I like V, but I never got the amount of hype it receives.

Me neither until I listened to it again recently and holy crap.
I never realized how good it was when I first heard it. The vast majority of songs on the album are all gems and the atmosphere pulls you in and doesnt ever let you escape until the album is done.
Good riffs and vocals help too.

Nevermore and Without You are now up on Spotify, at least in Finland! Liking the new tune, nothing special but a little Accolade-vibes! :)

I checked out most of Symphony X's stuff about 10 years ago, and it didn't do anything for me then.  Should I give it another shot now?

What did you listen to?

I would try one of two things:
1.  Listen to The Odyssey (entire album) twice.  If that doesn't do it for you, don't bother.  They probably aren't for you.
2.  Listen to Prelude->Evolution (The Grand Design) from V, preferably while driving.  If you can either (1) stay under the speed limit, or (2) deny that this isn't one of the most beastly album openings ever, don't bother.  They probably aren't for you.

Whatever "most of their stuff" was 10 years ago.  Pretty sure I remember The Odyssey, and I think V, but I won't swear to it.

I would try one of two things:
1.  Listen to The Odyssey (entire album) twice.  If that doesn't do it for you, don't bother.  They probably aren't for you.

I will definitely try 1.

And maybe 2.

A bit diffrent and straight forward. Again so nice hearing Russell sing clean. Love Romeos solo. Pumped for this release.

Lack of keyboards? really? I think they´re all over the song. That´s it, I´m sold! It´s going to be a great summer!

Sounds like one of the more poppier songs they've written yet. I quite like it, but I'm still bummed about the PL/IC production. I liked the band way better without those mechanical sounding drums. And I think Bogren might not even have much to do with it, as his mix for Leprous' new album sounds way more organic.

Not 'Down To F***', but 'Dream Theater Forums' .

bosky, I listened to The Odyssey once through.  That was enough for me.

While it is easy to see that these guys are very talented and good at what they do, what they do doesn't resonate with me.

No you're right, they don't appear to be on iTunes at all as far as I can tell.

They are on Spotify however and streaming on Spotify Mobile is free now.
