To make a game of it I seem to remember going all in. Yeah, you have to keep things interesting somehow, unless the also Rams are miles away. Then I saw cut em loose

It was more a case of the finals in that roulette being unbalanced. In the normal rounds there was a lot of risk vs reward because you could potentially lose money. In the final, it was impossible to lose money and so there was no risk involved. There was no reason at all to not go all in, and so that's exactly what we all did. :lol

I was... but it still didn't show up.  No matter, I found a workaround.

Still trying to find something to send.

Hopefully today... I'm clicking play this morning.  Sounds like you're gonna struggle to get 5 more bands/songs?

Wasn't that kinda the point of getting through the elimination rounds? Convince Chad you can send him the music he likes and then go on sending dubstep or anything you want when you're safe in the main competition. :lol
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

On the whole, you collectively rebounded after last round's (mostly) average songs.  Nothing is a real clear leader, but this is a much better crop of songs.

Three of you played your tag-team option, and for one of you, it was a good call.  For the other 2, you may have "wasted" a good songs, as both songs submitted were really good.

Back to Trivium and QR.  Man I'm loving both of those two albums.

IIRC, a couple of brief moments, but almost totally clean.  Reminds me of Redemption.  Excellent album.

Hmm...I wasn't considering it. I have The Crusade and I liked that, though I haven't spun it in a couple of years. Reminded me of a modern day Testament, before Testament  came back with two killer albums.

If I get the Trivium, it may push Vanden Plas off until Christmas.

OK, I listened to the first four songs off of the Trivium, and it's not doing it for me. $10 saved.

I really liked the Trivium. Quite Maiden-y in places when the instrumental sections start. And no growls. See, it can be done.

Understood Tim.  The 2nd half (imo) was much better than the last.  If you can get a hold to listen to the final track, it's killer.

Expect results tomorrow night.  Ranking is gonna be much harder than the last round.  The margin of difference between most songs is very, VERY slim.  Every song was quite enjoyable, with only a couple of tunes having any undesirable aspects.

Random thoughts:

- Different from anything else. Probably the most fun song of the round
- Really digging the instrumental section
- excellent guitar work; vocally, I was ok with it (which surprised me)
- great blend of prog/melodic metal
- Nothing wrong with it - would've definitely have floated my boat 25 years ago.
- This will unfortunately suffer from being outside my normal comfort zone that I can't rate it too high.
- tremendous solo - emotion, passion, soul - to steal a line from RJ, it could stop a bar fight.
- Loved the slow roll of the opening

I'm not sure what to expect, so I'll expect to be disappointed.

That being said, I really enjoy both of my submissions and could see you sharing in that. Maybe mine are the vocals which you were surprised to enjoy.

I'm hoping that mine is the great blend of prog and melodic metal.  :metal

Bottom one might be mine. I was agonising over whether I should send the ballad or a prog giver track. The ballad stood better on its own I thought
