HE SAID HE ONLY SAW THE FIRST MATRIX MOVIE AND DIDN'T LIKE IT MUCH.

He wasn't missing anything with the second and third though.

I think I knew she was in Memento but just forgot.

It took a second reading of that to get a :D out of me.

Now I wish that I had made that joke intentionally!

I said... okay I won't repeat it. All I remember about this movie is that it was riding a tremendous hype wave, and was way better that SW:EP1. tl;dr but around that time my life was at its lowest, and the thought of being about to see new SW films in the theater was one of the things that kept me going. When I got around to watching The Matrix, I didn't dislike it, but I didn't really get it either, the hype, or what the heck was going on. I never watched it again and never watched the others.

Watch it again.

She's pretty much the only person I recognize, so thats a good thing. Star Wars seems to always have one elder, more established actor in each project, so this continues that theme (not that I'd call her old).

She's probably pushing 60 I bet!

Looks like she's 56, which I am sure will not seem so old when I get there.

Easy, there, cowboy.  :)

CAM didn't do much for me back in the day, so I'm not sure the age thing matters (though she's got the sort of face that she probably looks just as good NOW as then).

I kinda wanted to do the 9 movie marathon in theaters on May 4th, but apparently there are no theaters in Minnesota doing it. Would have been fun to do with the kids.

Cool Chris

My friend at work was going on and on this morning about the amazing new teaser for the film Lord Vader coming out in 2026. When I had a free minute I looked it up on my phone and saw it was a fan-made video and not an actual teaser. Broke my heart to tell him.

My kid and I talked about doing it if one of the local theaters show it.  Haven't checked yet.

I've had to do that, but it never broke my heart.

I have no idea why people fall for that kind of crap.

Don't know if anyone else is watching 'Bad Batch' but it's been pretty good. Very cool series

Cool Chris

I watched Rogue One last night for the second time. I saw it when it first came out and while I remembered I enjoyed it, I could not seem to actually remember much about it; it almost felt like watching it for the first time. A great film, worthy of inclusion in the Star Wars universe.

Have you watched 'Andor' on Disney+??  Pretty good show. Nothing overly 'action' about it although there is action sequences. It's more based around dialogue and character interaction, which I found to be good.

Cool Chris

My sister has been telling me to watch Andor since it came out. She is always spot on with what I will like so it's been on my list ever since it debuted.

Adami

I think Andor might be the best Star Wars anything since Empire.

Though I haven't seen Ahsoka, Mando season 3 or any of the animated ones.

Yeah, if you liked Rogue One that much, Andorra will blow you away. Great show.

With as good as the animation has gotten.....especially how it was done in those last 4 episodes of 'Clone Wars' where they even used live motion capture as a backbone for the fight scenes.....I wish they'd just stuck with doing shows like 'Ahsoka' as animated shows.

This 'Tales from the Empire' and the 'Tales from the Jedi' looked visually great and you're able to do so much more in animation. And, it appeases those of us who consume every little bit of the content and would allow those who really don't care for it to just stay their course. Instead, the Live action shows are forced to stick with some of the revelations made in the various animated shows leaving a group of viewers more or less lost.

Plus, the animation gives you the ability to explore a ton of different avenues in SW (I would think) much more cost effectively.

Wow...how the fuck did that autocorrect happen?

Probably because Andorra is a very small country nestled between France and Spain.  I did my Grade 10 Geography main paper on it.

I guess I'm the only one who couldn't understand half of what they were saying in Andor. IDK if it's the accents or if you have to blast it loud to follow along but I found it annoying.

Wife and I watched the first episode of Andor last night. It has that same bland corporate sheen that everything in the Disney+ era has. It's not awful but if it doesn't get a lot better, quickly, we will definitely be bouncing off it before the end

Podaar

Andor's great, has solid core, and a great soul. But it's definitely not for everyone.

ganpondorodf

It was sold to me as space Northern Ireland which immediately piqued my interest

It's weird....because....Andor is the opposite of what a lot of folks haven't liked about the recent SW's content. I loved the dialogue driven storyline, the acting is really good....they really use R1's story and the fact that most of us know what ultimately happens to help set the tone AND they somehow make you care about those characters with us knowing how this all shakes out already.

Cant' wait for S2!

Finished The Bad Batch tonight. Got a little worried with the ominous opening that was reminiscent of the Clone Wars finale. Made me fear something bad was going to happen. I literally did not know it was the finale as they usually had 16 ep seasons.

With that said, it was a fantastic action packed finale with a satisfying ending for the Batch. Appreciated the jump ahead at the very end. I'm really going to miss shows like Clone Wars and Bad Batch. I hope they can continue making this kind of quality animation in the future.

Five years ago tonight, May the Fourth, 2019, we were playing a gig and during a break, I whipped out the Star Wars Main Title.  Brass on one keyboard, strings on the other.  I actually worked on the arrangement, knowing that the gig was coming up and was on May the Fourth, and I though it sounded great.  Two people clapped.  Come on!  Star Wars!  May the Fourth!  Ugh.  I went and got a drink.

Yeah....I finished it as well. That was a fun series and I like how they tied it all up at the end. I liked the little time jump and how they left it to your imagination on what could have happened with Omega since she went off to fight in the rebellion.

New trailer for The Acolyte dropped yesterday. Looks pretty cool tbh.
