I'm honestly not sure.
It's still a very nebulous-feeling classification to me that seems to cover a wide variety of styles. There's some albums classified under it on RYM that I certainly wouldn't think of as post-hardcore, like that last Asunojokei album, the first Mutoid Man, White Silence by Cave In... and apparently Brand New's The Devil And God Are Raging Inside me
isn't post-hardcore and I thought it was.
I enjoy all of those though.
I think I like post-hardcore more when the riffs are chunkier and more metal-influenced. I got two Glassjaw songs a couple roulettes ago, Piano and Cosmopolitan Bloodloss. I didn't like the former and thought the latter kicked ass.
