Lithojazzosphere-Slash’s Snakepit
1. Speed Parade
2. Life’s Sweet Drug
Definitely invites some foot tapping but I’m not sure how much these tracks will stand out.
Well, I guess we know what it would sound like if Graham Bonnet joined Guns n Roses. Both of these songs were pretty enjoyable. The vocals in Life’s Sweet Drug are a bit cheesy, almost annoying, but musically, it can’t be denied. Love the guitar solo where it kicks it up a notch.
Speed Parade has that total classic early 80’s glam feel, Hanoi Rocks style. Again, more sucky lyrics. Again, another kicked up bridge and solo. The speeding cars….ugh. Still, this is a ferocious rocker.
Hmm, I know I've heard Bonnet on something or another, and a Hanoi Rocks track or two at some point, but don't really know either well, so I might have to see how similar they are. There's not much else I've found that scratches that particular itch, and as I told you via PM, I'm not really into Axl (way cheesier and annoying than Rod to me), so GnR never fully worked for me. I guess I'm better at tuning out lyrics and the car noises bug me much less than you, but as anyone who's read enough of my writeups knows, I have my own quirks with things that irk me.
I think the final round will be my best shot for a high score again. Next round is gonna be an unknown, and '23 is hopefully gonna be a total crapshoot for everyone. I have numerous "good" candidates, but nothing great yet. All of them are flawed in some way or another. The best stuff rarely comes out in January/February.
