Alessandro Del Vecchio and I'm pretty sure Simone Mularoni are on a retainer for them to do a lot of the writing and production for them. This is why a lot of the releases are starting to sound the same. I love a lot of their stuff but its getting watered down.

Alessandro Del Vecchio and I'm pretty sure Simone Mularoni are on a retainer for them to do a lot of the writing and production for them. This is why a lot of the releases are starting to sound the same. I love a lot of their stuff but its getting watered down.

They have done this all along really.  Magnus Karlsson, Erik Martensson, Daniel Flores, Timor Tolkki even, Dennis Ward, Robert Sall, there have always had a pretty decent roster rotating the songwriters but they seemed to have a few more quality ones back in the day sharing the load.  Those two you mentioned are the two big ones but Del Vicchio just doesn't fucking go away!

They must have drained Del Veccio's back catalogue. They cited the example of Desmond Child writing with bands to me

Very true actually. They really put out some kick ass albums but some just sound sterile and uninspired.

I see there is a new album from Murder Of My Sweet, and strangely it’s a sequel to another band’s album - the very great Mind’s Eye album A Gentleman’s Hurricane. how very prog… the link is songwriter, drummer, keyboard player, producer Daniel Flores.

Apparently it follows the daughter of the hitman from the first album.

Just coming back to this one.  It dropped recently.  Really nice musically, but I don't think it fits with the vocalist from Murder of My Sweet.  She's just a little too ... plain?  Uninteresting?  I don't know the right description.  She's not bad, but just doesn't click for me.

Latest from Frontiers. It’s come to this. That is as cliched, bland and uninspired as the song title itself. Is there a band that hasn’t done a song called In The Heat Of The Night? If there is, they probably come from where I live where it’s pretty much never hot in the night! 😁
