I can only rollover a maximum of 5 days. I typically get 23 days a year, but this this year with the rollover I got 28.

As of right now I have I think six vacation days (can be rolled over) and and four sick days (can't). I'm in the beginning of a 2.5 week stretch where I'm trying to run the team shorthanded, while also onboarding/training a new employee and dealing with an annual audit. I think I'm giving myself a three or four day weekend sometime soon and just blobbing.

I like to save some up for the last week of December. Between the weekends, Christmas, and New Years, I can usually turn 7 days of PTO into a 14-16 day vacation. Last year I went to DC for a week and when I came home I still had another 5 days off. It was marvelous.

My father works for a company that allows you to roll over an unlimited amount per year, but they cap you at 600 total hours of rollover (75 days). You can collect it as a lump sum when you leave the company. Anyway, he's maxed out and is ready to retire. The company offered him a ridiculous sum to stay onboard and not retire until a few projects that he has a heavy hand in are completed. He said to his boss "I'm going to take every Monday off from now until I retire, or I'm retiring now". They didn't even bat an eye at it.

That's awesome. We can roll over at most 10 days, and they have to be used in the first quarter the following year. While it's annoying that my team has to have coverage on most US holidays (all except Christmas Day and New Year's Day), I usually volunteer to work them and then just basically bank an extra vacation day (it's not official, I just put myself down for 8 hours on a day I'm out).

I get 17 days off and can only roll over 5. I rolled over 5 from last year. We also get the Friday after thanksgiving off and the week between christmas and new years as well. I have 9 more days I have to use this year and roll over the 5 again. Think I am going to plan a week on the west coast. Been thinking about it for awhile and since my road trip in Nevada/Arizona was a lot of fun, I think I'm going to fly into Seattle and drive to Portland and then to San Fran and come home from there. Explore the upper west coast for a week. Enjoy the legal activities out there and the outdoors. Thinking this fall will be the time for that, maybe October since September is pretty booked for me.

I'd love this.

After I pass probation, I'll have the chance to go on a 9/80 schedule. Right now I work Mon-Fri 8a-5p with an hour lunch.

9/80 peeps work 730-5 with 30 min lunches 5 days a week, but have every other Friday (or Monday depending...) off. And on the Friday / Monday they are working, they work 8-5.

I think I'd rather keep my schedule than do that.
