He's like the world's most famous drummer or something, I'll sure he'll work out a way not to work at Burger King. Not to mention he probably made like five billion billion dollars touring with A7X.
He made a choice, I'm sure he thought it was a good idea to quit rather than try to go on directly to a new album, and he probably thought there was no way the band could refuse him since he was some kind of defacto leader. Some times your choices are wrong, but I'm sure we all realized from the moment the news came that he made a mistake leaving. He could've kept his ego (oh no!) under control, and none of this would've happened, because I'm sure it wasn't just the desire to take a break that led to this. There was an unspoken consensus starting amongst a lot of fans that he was becoming a bad influence on the music, and even though most of us didn't say it out loud for fear of being banned by our respective forums, I think this is clear now.
He was the member with the blue braided beard, the tattoos, he was the one who took to communicating with the press alone, he became the face of DT, etc. He was the John Romero, the Roger Waters, the Russell Hammond of DT. You can't tell me nobody noticed there was an imbalance in the band, and one person is very unlikely to be right all the time in the choices they make for a group of people, especially when it involves their careers.
I hate being dramatic, but it's just my opinion. Honestly, he was the sole reason I literally stopped listening to DT after being a devoted, hardcore fan for years. Now I feel so excited to see what happens next.
