DT the League 2015 - Division 1, Week 7

Please vote for the song that you'd like to see win each of the numbered matches.

These are 16 head to head matches. You shouldn't be voting for your 16 most favorite overall. You should be voting for one song in each matchup... meaning one of the songs with a "1." in front of it, one of the songs with a "2." in front of it, an so on all the way to one of the songs with "16." in front of it.

You don't have to vote for a song in each match if you don't want to, whether you can't choose between the two, or don't like either etc. Individual matches can have less votes than the total number of people who voted, but they shouldn't have more.

Please double-check your ballot before submitting it.

If you have any questions about anything in regards to properly voting, please ask BEFORE voting.

If you realize that you made a mistake after voting, please let us know, so we know what to fix.

If you want to, you can reply with what you voted for... and we can discuss the match ups.  :tup

Yeah, In the Name of God vs. Blind Faith was a tough one. It's always sad to not vote for Blind Faith, but ItNoG is just better.

Not sure why.  ACOS is expected to win most of its matchups by quite a margin.  LTL has been a huge contender for a long time but it doesn't surprise me that BAI is giving it a run for its money.

What's heartbreaking to me is the votes for IT over TSCO.  Baffles the mind.  However, so far looking like good taste will prevail.

In a way, I am saddened that LtL is beating BAI which is much more sophisticated in almost all levels (except the vocals), or that TSCO is beating a meticulously composed complex song like IT, or that ACOS is still lording it over every other song (not referring to this match-up) even though they have evolved tremendously from those rawer-sounding years. I guess the core fanbase really still holds those early years of DT in a very special place.

Don't mind me. I'm just trying to convince myself not to be upset with these matchups (first time to participate in these polls). I have to learn to just vote and walk away.

You are probably one of the few who are voting based on how sophisticated or meticulously composed you think something is.  Most people are just voting on which song of the two in any given matchup they like better.

My favorite two songs by DT are LTL and ACOS, and it will take a lot to change that.  I love the songs.  I love BAI also, but I don't love it better than LTL, and a day that I do may never come.

I agree that IT is a "more meticulously composed song" than TSCO, but I love TSCO, and I have for years.  I think that IT is a top-10 song for sure, but I have a history with TSCO that, at this point, IT simply can't trump.

I agree that IT is a "more meticulously composed song" than TSCO

Is it though? I mean, I might misunderstand the meaning of that, but when thinking the term 'meticulously composed song', IT isn't the track that'll come to mind.

It is well composed, sure. Even though I personally don't like it, I can say that. But I don't feel like it deserves higher praise than other tracks for it's composure in particular.

Because a simple song can't be better written than a complex one  ::)

I just said that it is more meticulously composed than TSCO.

I love TSCO, it's one of my favorite songs, but from a composition standpoint (which is the only thing at issue in my point), it's just verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, instrumental section, chorus, outro.  Fairly standard rock arrangement, nothing out of the ordinary.

IT is a lot different than that.  It is WAY out of the ordinary.

I guess it depends on what one considers meticulous for a prog band.   :lol   IT is meticulous for a prog band because of the unorthodox arrangements and how perfectly it fits into place.  KISS attempting to play the same song would probably just refer to it as being all over the place and sloppy.   They would probably favor an arrangement such as the one in TSCO.
