Usually I just do a black & white scan. If I scan it in color there are more details, but the blacks and whites are not as strong. This time I scanned it normally, but messed with the levels in GIMP to make it black and white. It's still not perfect though, as it gives almost too much strength to the black, erasing some details left by empty space.

The colouring is not bad at all imo. It's very simple, but it kinda fits the whole atmosphere. I still like it better in black and white, though.

Thinking about it more, it could work really well colored, but the comic would have to be drawn with the intention of being colored, not just having it filled in later.

The only reason I would see to stick to colouring is if you are using it for main-characters. So people can differentiate easier ("guy in red" etc.).
