I think Colors is way overrated.  I would have had an easier time getting into BtBaM initially if someone had showed me Alaska first.  But TGM is simply amazing.

Well I was FINALLY able to get a copy today! (2-disc edition :tup)

So im going to listen to it tonight and I'll report back

They are great live. I saw them Nov. 7th in Dayton and they were very tight, especially on the older stuff.

as a drummer, blake is a lot better than mike. mp hasn't progressed at all in the past 10 years, while blake does new stuff every album. chops wise, creativity wise, speed wise, blake has got mp.

dont get me wrong, i LOVE mike portnoy. but blake is just above him. nothing wrong with that. MP is perfect for DT and blake can do all the technical stuff along with the heavier metal stuff

I respectfully disagree. I've heard a lot of people say MP can't 'groove'. To me, that's absolute BS. Blake on the other hand, is very technical and perfect for BTBAM, but I much prefer MP's style.

I just looked it up and the description said its the album in 5.1 and a 45 minute documentary/interview relating to the album.

I would say the 5.1 mix was nice but there was definitely some parts that I didn't know were there until i heard the 5.1 mix.
