albums from this past year: i'd go with fair to midland and polkadot cadaver. probably forgetting something else.

also: dream theater chorus' are more catchy and better than im guessing a lot of the 'general music discussion' members might give em credit for.

Queen?

I will second this.

Beatles have already been mentioned, but lets not forget Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Beach Boys, and Elton John on the all timers

I think Avenged Sevenfold does great in the chorus department.

I don't know much on the latter 2, but yeah, CCR is a definite contender.

Hey Gadough, why don't you try listening to Disturbed before doing the whole ''lol disturbed'' thing. Not all of their songs go OHWAHKAHKAHKAH.

I actually like Disturbed. They come on the radio in the afternoon a lot and I always crank it up. It's good driving music.

I'm not. I like Disturbed, and I didn't think you did so when you made a post praising them, I assumed you were being sarcastic.

Lately, I can't get Redemption out of my skull.   Everything about Nick's songwriting is just mesmerizing.

Coheed and Cambria.  Except for half of "Pearl of the Stars" and all of "Made Out of Nothing," all their choruses have been fantastic.  Considering this is five albums worth of stuff I'm surprised they haven't really disappointed me yet.  :lol

I can dig this and I agree w/ Fair to Midland as well.  At least as far as "modern" bands go.  Also, forget the choruses, how about some love for Coheed's outros?  Most of their outro hooks could be ridiculous choruses in their own right! "Wait for me alriiight..", "Point your gun in another direction...", "And she screamed Claudio-o...", "When eye meets eye be calm..."   Shiiiiiit and that's just on their first album!  :metal

I would actually say that Neal Morse has some awesome choruses if you take them in isolation...simple melodies go a long way.
"All great works are prepared in the desert, including the redemption of the world. The precursors, the followers, the Master Himself, all obeyed or have to obey one and the same law. Prophets, apostles, preachers, martyrs, pioneers of knowledge, inspired artists in every art, ordinary men and the Man-God, all pay tribute to loneliness, to the life of silence, to the night." - A. G. Sertillanges
