The question is when? Announcements made my DT in the past months have given a whole new meaning to the word "soon".

On second thoughts, perhaps it's not best to turn this thread into a Soon meme thread.

Anyway, I'd love to hear a new song. The short teasers on their FB page don't really reveal much, so it would be great to hear a full track.

Haken is not DT and being from the UK where the English language originated we should assume they know the real meaning of "soon"

And, being from the UK, they also know that it's traditionally spelled "sooun."

I agree with all the love for the album art. While I can't say that I actively disliked the other covers, they never really thrilled me either. This is just brilliant. Any bets on when we'll see the debut of the new song?  ;D

:rollin Well I'd definitely prefer someday soon to waiting forever...

...but having a fairly concrete time frame is even better :metal

...this is gonna be a long week lol! Since this is the first new album that's been released since I've been a fan of the band, I'm curious...did something similar happen with Aquarius and Visions? If so what songs did they offer up for a preview? Someone who's more in the know about these things please help a sister out lol!

They did it for Aquarius, they made Eternal Rain available a few weeks before I think.

For Visions, I'm fairly sure they didn't release a full track in advance of the release. They released some teasers though, that had sections of different songs. They also released this which I remember getting people very excited: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=um8xAjt50iU

I hope they make a teaser like that again! I wasn't a fan until after Visions came out so this is the first release by them I'm anticipating.

Oh man...excellent! Eternal Rain is one of my favorite tracks from Aquarius. Also I gotta admit...even though it's for for an album I'm already well familiar with, that Visions teaser still gave me chills :lol

...methinks it's time for another listen through of Visions now. Woohoo for a day off! :hat

The guy that made it is an extremely talented French horn player and has a big French horn tribute to Dream Theater on Youtube. Awesome guy. He also played French horn on Transatlantic's The Whirlwind and is in the Symphonic Theater of Dreams symphony.

I checked out the video last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. And apparently his skills aren't strictly limited to video editing? Man...some people have so much talent it's disgusting :lol

One day down, six more to go (assuming they truly mean a week)...oh man this is gonna go by soooooo sloooooooooooow...

So, what everybody else's favorite album?

I lean toward Aquarius myself, but I think most prefer Visions.

Oh man that is so difficult. There was a time when I would have said Visions simply because there were some things in Aquarius that didn't really vibe very well with me, particularly moments of Streams. However in the last six months or so I've found that those sections that I used to get all :\ over don't really bother me, and actually I am now quite fond of them. I like that they allowed themselves to get a little bit lighthearted and silly on Aquarius, and Celestial Elixir simply cannot be beat...the entrance of the vocals in that song is just :hefdaddy :heart

...yep. Another vote for Aquarius here  :tup
