Blob aside - i can't understand anyone preferring winter to summer. Especially in the UK.

It can get to -20 here in a bad winter.

Our summers are 40c Maximum in a heatwave. Not that scorching at all. Just about right.

Why would anyone PREFER : Cold, Wet, Days with very short hours of daylight ? Plus I can't drive my bike.

The only positive for me in Winter is that there's almost no insects.

As far as winter vs summer, I just really dislike both

We don't get quite as cold here mostly, I'd say even down to -10 is on the chilly side. Conversely, it's much more common for us to get up just at/below 40C in the summer, and it's also pretty humid here.

I don't even care about temperature. I fucking hate snow and ice. And winter is when everyone gets the sickest and it spreads like wildfire. We can't get the germs out of this house.

It flurried this morning, and some services are forecasting a potential snowstorm next weekend. I'd be just fine with no snow or ice all winter. *grumble*

In other geek news, tonight my wife, father-in-law, and I have tickets to see the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra play the soundtrack live while we watch Star Trek Into Darkness. Should be good.

Yeah, I have an uncle (grew up in NJ) who lives down in the Raleigh/Durham area and he think it's funny how once they get an inch or two of snow the state is basically paralyzed. I know you get it even worse than we do Joe, but we see our fair share of snowfall.

They did the first (new) Star trek last night, but my wife was more interested in seeing the second one again. Didn't care for both nights.

My dad used to go for training in Raleigh and he was blown away that people couldn't drive with a little ice but they don't budget anything for salting and plowing.

STFU. Lots of people prefer winter. UK doesn't even have summer. You call it a heatwave if you have two consecutive days over 30C.

I prefer a good autumn, but being in LA, I really miss winter. It was 75 degrees the other day.

I miss snow. I miss freezing weather. I miss boobs.

Not all of those things are associated with winter, but I miss them all. Not equally.

It's the middle of summer in Australia. Yeah, I expect it to be hot too.

It's the hottest first month of summer we've had in forever, so it's even more brutal and unlivable than usual. Forget the reputation for the animals killing you, it's the giant burning ball of hate in the sky that kills you.

I just re-watched Crocodile Dundee a few days ago, so I'm pretty sure I'm an expert in all things Australia.

There's actually a telemovie about Paul Hogan (including Crocodile Dundee) showing soon. I keep seeing the ads, and it looks terrible. Apparently telemovies about Australian celebrities is a thing at the moment.
