I tried a new beer yesterday (well, new to me).  Dead Guy Ale from Rogue Brewing in Oregon.  Very tasty.

Is it made by fermenting dead guys in barrels?

That's where the term "Rot Gut Whiskey" came from.

I thought that was more to do with alcohol destroying your internals.

Here's the story I've read... There was medical school in DC back in the day, and the to-be surgeons could only practice surgery on animals and could only see human insides through hand-drawings in medical books. There was a professor there that believed his students would never be truly ready for human surgeries until they practiced on cadavers (which were illegal to have/practice on). Apparently this professor paid the janitor to dig up graves and sneak the dead bodies onto campus to be used in secret training sessions. The janitor snuck the bodies onto campus in whiskey barrels and would then sell the whiskey to students once the body was removed.

In other news, I just got a call from my desired prospective employer in Raleigh.  They offered me the job, and for more money than I expected.  I am so stoked right now.

TBH, I was a little nervous about the interview at this place; it was my first job interview in 11 years.

After my second interview that day, I texted my wife: "I fucking killed that shit."

I'm good. What's the good word? I'm working on a switch installation project, but of course there is equipment missing from the order.  This is par for the course for transit.

You can see how a multi-million dollar operation can't get out of its own way. You're welcome to revel in the frustration of it all.    It's basic commands though. All I have to do is set up the IP addresses and VLAN info. It's a VOIP switch. Everything else, as far as hooking up the phones, is the responsibility of a different group.

I accepted my job offer in Raleigh this morning, and turned in my resignation at my current employer.

This is really weird.

Yeah, I've only been at my current job a little more than three years and it already feels like it'll be weird if/when I give my notice to move somewhere else.
