Oops, been traveling for the past two weeks so only yesterday finished listening to the stuff scheduled for two weeks ago
But I've also jammed some of these more than once and relistened others so
Dear: Yeah new Boris is very solid, there's the sludgy and doomy-droney tracks, some fast-faced stoner ones, some ambient passages and then there's fucking Dystopia -Vanishing Point / 何処へ-, one of the very best songs of the year with such huge build-up and climax.
The Bends: Uuhhhh this is ok I guess?
Promised Land: I'm not a big 'Ryche fan beyond O:M so didn't know what to expect. But this is certainly darker and a bit more experimental in the chord progressions and overall songwriting, and it works for me! Will surely relisten.
The Colour of Spring: I've been jamming this a lot lately, and it's definitely my favorite Talk Talk record - it's just a very very unique pop album that's full of solid arrangements and none of 80s production pitfalls, instead opting for a very organic sound. Funny how they'd later go full experimental and basically set some of the foundations for Post-Rock. Will definitely send this on roulettes... if there are any in the future
I may have to run one, even if short, mmnnn...
The Optimist: This is... solid I guess. Kinda not very memorable save a couple songs but still a pleasant listen.
Talkie Walkie: Been spinning this one and Moon Safari a lot too, am definitely gonna delve deeper into this group.
in•ter a•li•a: It's ok I guess, fans will definitely appreciate it. Production really kills the immense energy this album has, it's too compressed.
Relaxer: On the one hand it's more varied and interesting than An Awesome Wave imo, on the other it's still as inconsistent. Good thing it became my 666th rating on RYM
