Forgot Solid.  That's a legit Rapid Fire rip off.

Yes. I can't believe Tipton and Downing don't have writing credits on that. :lol
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

Just thinking about Kai's love for his influences, there's quite a few;

Heading for Tomorrow - Victim of Changes (main riff)
Hand of Fate - Dissident Aggressor (verse)
Heart of the Unicorn - Painkiller (verse vocal melody)
Opportunity - The Clairvoyant (middle section)
Empress - Princess of the Dawn (all of it)
Insurrection - Exciter (melody during solo section)
To the Metal - Metal Gods (the whole fucking thing)
I think Real World it is he rips of the Sentinel in the middle.....

In New World Order (the song), you can literally sing "Hell bent, Hell bent for leather" over the chorus.
I use my sig to pimp some bands from Italy! Check out Elvenking (Power / Folk metal), Folkstone (Rock / Medieval metal), Arcana Opera (Gothic/Noir/Heavy metal) and the beautiful voice of Elisa!

I always thought the bridge of Rain was close to A Million to One by Helloween.

Hey were back to Helloween.

I always loved picking up on all of Kais little nuggets.  It's funny how more and more crept in as he got later and later into his career.

Although I think the last album sounded quite original from memory, but I'd have to listen to it again.

The Queen Flash Gordon thing he does in songs like Man on A Midsion and Armageddon is pretty funny too.

I have Empire of the Undead in the car today.  This is a pretty good album actually.  A shame Gamma Ray is pretty much done but I hope we do see another studio album at some point.

Anyway going with the theme of the last few posts, even though it's written by Dirk, the Queen nod in Time for Deliverance is out of this world!   Makes Kai look like a novice.  :lol

I'm really curious how the success of Helloween's last album will impact the next one. I am guessing the band has a lot of songs written at this point. I remember reading on here (someone posted something a while back) that Kai has a bunch more tunes written than he did for the last one. "Skyfall" was the gem of the record and was Kai's if I remember right (I like the album now, but still feel Kai is needed, writing-wise in a big way).

Indeed Skyfall is the one and only contribution from Kai on the album.

I still like it overall, but without the Hansen epic, it would have been just another modern day Deris era album. I mean, there's nothing here that feels 100% thought with Kiske's voice in mind (maybe Out for the Glory) and you could take away Hansen (basically just no Skyfall) and Kiske's voice, and the album would have still been mostly the same. Still better than My God Given Right, but I hope the next album will benefit more of the chemistry between old and new members.

Yeah, I thought so. And agree with your description of the album. Totally. Thank goodness we got the epic. I expect big things from the next album.

The band did a bunch of interviews before the US tour, and I remember Kiske said that. He said Kai will definitely be contributing more, which is a good thing. I agree that the album could've used more Kai.
I mean, we can all do a song ranking and eliminate the bottom couple.

Michael Weikath's tunes, Out For Glory, Robot Man, and Down In The Dumps are three songs I love, stupid lyrics notwithstanding.
Andi's are Fear Of the Fallen, which is great, Mass Pollution, which I didn't care for but was excellent live, and Cyanide, which to me is the weakest song.
Markus' Indestructible is certainly replaceable.
Sasha had Best Times, which the band thought well enough to bring to the live show, and Angels, which to me is actually the most interesting song on the album.

The thing is, when they convened for the album, they all brought a handful of songs that they had each written, except for Dani and Kiske, who wrote nothing, and Kai, who came in with one song..the best one!

Kiske said, they already have ideas and the fact that they've played even more together as a band should help. I do expect the next album to be better, but seriously, I love this last album.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

Really cool video from Dani on the Japanese tour.

The only date left on Helloween's touring itinerary is the Hell & Heaven fest in Mexico in November.

Nice cover of Eagle Fly Free:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icoIkq1jBGw

Erik Gronwall (H.E.A.T and currently in Skid Row) on vocals is excellent. I mean, the whole thing is very faithful to the original, but there's a nifty little bonus of father & son Hansen doing the solos  :)

OK, I got on this. Yes, it's outstanding. That dude has some pipes, and his grittier, if not nasally in some parts, gives the vocal a completely different vibe, but he still crushes it.

To me, it's almost the perfect song. Bass solo and a drum solo?  :metal

Tommy Johansson did a great version of it a few months back too.

Update from Helloween camp:

https://blabbermouth.net/news/helloween-to-release-new-studio-album-in-2025

They have a new record deal with a label I've never even heard of. :lol They plan to enter studio in the summer, and the new album is now tentatively slated for 2025 instead of 2024.

I too wondered if the lineup was going to produce another album.  I guess the whole hype and novelty around it made you wonder if it actually was a long term kind of setup.  They're taking their time which is fine I guess so they can do other things, but yeah potentially another year and a half away is a slog.
