I'm really curious how the success of Helloween's last album will impact the next one. I am guessing the band has a lot of songs written at this point. I remember reading on here (someone posted something a while back) that Kai has a bunch more tunes written than he did for the last one. "Skyfall" was the gem of the record and was Kai's if I remember right (I like the album now, but still feel Kai is needed, writing-wise in a big way).
The band did a bunch of interviews before the US tour, and I remember Kiske said that. He said Kai will definitely be contributing more, which is a good thing. I agree that the album could've used more Kai.
I mean, we can all do a song ranking and eliminate the bottom couple.
Michael Weikath's tunes, Out For Glory, Robot Man, and Down In The Dumps are three songs I love, stupid lyrics notwithstanding.
Andi's are Fear Of the Fallen, which is great, Mass Pollution, which I didn't care for but was excellent live, and Cyanide, which to me is the weakest song.
Markus' Indestructible is certainly replaceable.
Sasha had Best Times, which the band thought well enough to bring to the live show, and Angels, which to me is actually the most interesting song on the album.
The thing is, when they convened for the album, they all brought a handful of songs that they had each written, except for Dani and Kiske, who wrote nothing, and Kai, who came in with one song..the best one!
Kiske said, they already have ideas and the fact that they've played even more together as a band should help. I do expect the next album to be better, but seriously, I love this last album.
