This is a great thread. I absolutely love dogs and have three right now (four until a year ago). So here is the short story of all four.
Biscuit and Pablo (Mastiff x Germane Shepherd) are litter mates we picked up from the Sydney RSPCA shelter in mid-2007. Pablo lost a leg to osteosarcoma in August '13 and two months later his brother Biscuit was diagnosed with leukaemia. Biscuit made it for 12 months more with chemo, that was hard for him to take, but he lived far longer than the oncologists had ever expected (expected 1-2 months max even with chemo). Pablo lost the leg and was on a chemo protocol for four months. He had also outlived all expectations. Still going strong with no sign of metastases. That's awesome and he loves life and his daily walks. Both boys are (were) quite large, with Pablo pushing 60kg in his heyday and Biscuit about 51kg.

This is my (our) fave pic of the two boys. Biscuit always had the ball.

Molly is a rescued Australian Kelpie x Blue Cattledog and is just wonderful, a bundle of energy and joy.
Mid last year we rescued our Rottweiler from a pound, she was nine weeks old. Leila is gorgeous, great personality and super sweet. As long as you're not an intruder.
