So far the multiplayer has been pretty bittersweet for me. While I like the overall new look of the game, and the gameplay is still rather fun, there is a good number of things that feels dumbed down or just plain unnecessary. I also am disappoint that some of the weapons from CoD4 didn't make it into this one, such as the G36C.

Elaborate.

And agreed on the G36C, that was a fun weapon.
For example, the overall layout of when in game. You know how when you kill people and you see this really annoying looking thing pop up at the bottom of the screen? Yeah, unnecessary.
The Titles and emblems also seem rather silly.
I don't think there is a prestige mode, and some of the class stuff like all these different options doesn't seem necessary as well.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I'll get back to you on the rest when I get home later.

Though I will admit, I do like how you get points for more things in this game than in the previous one.
I felt its length in quite a few places.

It's changed in as much as it's like COD4 on steroids. there's a lot more going on at any one point. You don't really get those quiet moments that sometimes happened in the other game. And there's a lot more customisation. You can choose what you get for different killstreaks, many more attachments for primary and secondary weapons, and the perks are much more intrinsic to gameplay, at least for me.

My setup for most maps:

FAMAS with holographic sight
The second shotgun, the one with a fast fire rate (can't remember the name)

1 x frag
2 x stun

Slight of hand pro

Stopping power pro

Commando pro

Martyrdom, though I haven't yet had to use it   ;)

Is multiplayer online still broken?

It is awesome, I've been using a FMJ-Suppressed M4A1 with my secondary as Akimbo-FMJ magnums <3

(although once I get extended mags on the M4A1, I might switch to ExtendedMags - Silencer and Slight of Hand)

Holographic and silencer with the M4A1 = complete pwnage!

Have you used the Steyr, XianL?

No, what goddamn rank are you? Farthest I've unlocked is the FAL.

(The AUG HBAR is sick though, LMG and looks similar)

And bling pro (requires 200 kills with a blinged weapon to unlock) gives you two attachments on your secondary weapon as well!)

The AUG HBAR is the Steyr! And I'm 32-33.

Oh :P It really is sick though. Deceptively large mag, and an excellent reload time!

I haven't unlocked anything but the RDS and grip, but so far it's a solid weapon. What really annoys me are the tripods on it, and many other weapons. I feel they detract from the models a bit. Nothing game-breaking though.

I don't know why all the LMG and SR have the tripods on them, you can't use them. But that doesn't annoy me. The AUG is sick!! My favorite LMG so far and I'm using it constantly!!

I also just read that IW is putting more servers for the PS3, they're saying that the patch didn't break the MP is just that they are having server overload.

You think they would've been prepare with lots of server since day one, just from pre-order numbers you knew the game was going to sell a gazillion copies!

They should have had an open beta. That would have given them a real idea of the kind of serverload they were going to have. Morons.

I haven't really investigated the LMG's or SR's yet. I've been unlocking all the attachments (or as many as I can) for the assault rifles and SMG's. M4A1 mastery at 8/9, and I'm about 2/3 the way to blue tiger ;D (Urban camo is great!!)

Not a huge fan of the SCAR-H, but both the FAMAS and the TAR-21 are great.

The SCAR-H literally eats the bullets!!! I can't believe how fast you ran out of bullets with it! I'm using the FAMAS until I get my baby unlocked (M-16) and I've been surprise by how awesome the UMP is!

I haven't been able to snipe a lot, but that's just until I get a good feel for the maps and I find that doing headshots are very, very easy!

Yeah, the FAMAS is like the godchild of the M16. Did you know that deep impact is now a attachment? FMJ increases penetration. So, bling for you all the time, amiright? :P

Have you been using the G18 much? I don't often get a chance, but when I whip it out, it destroys! Great magazine capacity as well, something like 46 bullets? Nuts.

:lol I use Bling on all classes except the one for sniping.

Haven't use the G18 a lot, been trying to get the attachments for the guns the way they are unlocked. So I'm still working on the P2000.

Maybe if I had a PC capable of running a game like that :P (although I plan building something of the sort in a few months...)

No, I bought it for my PS3.

@Dimi: You haven't used scavenger yet? :o Damn son. And fair enough on the weapons/attachments strategy. Have you finished all the attachments unlocks for the M4 then?

I guess its not really worth it to get it on PC...
COD4 doesnt run terribly on my compy, but its definitely smoother on xbox.
I might see if I can trade some old games I never play to get both, like I did with COD4...

By the way, I hope the two most retarded perks aka stopping power and martyrdom are gone in MW2?

...I'm pretty naive, I know.
Stopping Power is awesome!! Martyrdom is now a deathstreak, if they kill you 4 straight time, THEN you released martyrdom and no Frag x3 either.

But, only one Claymore?!?! Come on!!!!

BTW, anyone else having problems trying to get into multiplayer? Now it doesn't even finish downloading all my settings and ranks!
Other than it's the most annoying and overpowered perk in game, ok.

The rest sounds good though. And reading all about the attachments and new guns makes me really want the game, and I'm supposed to hate it. :P

Multiplayer went down today on PS3, because the servers got overloaded and party invites have been troublesome since about 5:00am on Tuesday.

As I posted above, it's idiotic. IW and Sony should have expected this, and prepared accordingly.

I read on Robert Bowling (IW's community manager) that the servers are starting to come back gradually. I keep refreshing it to see when will he post that they are 100% back.
