A buddy of mine did this: he ran all the way to High Hrothgar and entered it, the Frost Troll entered behind him and got destroyed by the Greybeards.
Makes sense. Would a potion of brief invisibility help to hide me, or no? The potion's duration is only 20 seconds.
Send your follower to go attack first, and then attack it from afar. Trolls are pretty slow, so if you can keep your distance and cast spells you should be fine
Ah, ok. I'd tried to do this the first time and the troll ended up whomping me a pretty good one.
I'll try to do it more stealth-like and stuff.
I went up to High Hrothgir around level 9 with basic steal armor and 2 orcish axes. Took me a few loads, but I was able to eventually wear the frost troll down. They (and most other things I've fought so far) usually won't be able to hit you while you're running backwards, so keep that in mind if you ever need to back up and give yourself time to heal.
I'm currently Level 5, so maybe I'm doing this too early?
I have steel armor too, but my favorite weapon is the two-handed Nord Greatsword so... maybe I should rethink that.
Did NOT know about the backwards thing though, thanks for pointing that out.
The only time I had a problem with the trolls was when I was in labyrinth and got bombarded by like 3 of them at once. But following the strategy I just posted, they usually aren't a big deal if its just one.
THREE?! Jeebz, I'm having a rough time with ONE LOL
Oh god! I remember the first time I entered into Labyrinthian and had that happened to me! Thankfully I was able to pick them off one by one after they gangraped me.
Um... TMI dude. Jes sayin.
Thanks for the help, lads!
