The only thing I'm delivering is a huge bomb unless Tim wants to wait literally until at least Wednesday for something less torturous than what I did send, otherwise I told him to listen to Lucy  :P also I didn't want to write a novella so I wrote 2 sentences and wished him luck
From a Mega Man Legends island jamming power metal to a Walrus listening to black metal, I like your story arc.

With regards to songs... they can advance the narrative or, as in my case, they can supplement or illustrate the narrative.  For example (made up because Iron Maiden is banned), I can put in "The Number Of The Beast" not because it's about a dream about the devil, but because it was the song playing when something happened.   Just like the lyrics of "Lavender" by Marillion don't advance the narrative, but are the lyrics of the "love song" Fish sang about in Kayleigh.

I'ma try to get mine in tomorrow.

Considering I have like four instrumental songs on my album, I was very liberal to how they advance the story. I mean it's literally whatever you say it is. If you say "the sands of time for me are running low" works for your story of a person haunted by Death in Terry Pratchett's series, following you with a literal hourglass with sands of your life, who's to say this is not a correct interpretation?

Yes, of course there will be lyrics that are against the narrative. Is Tim going to fixate on them? I'm going to guess, probably not.

i don't really have plans to do a super long story writeup, i'll probably just summarize the story purpose of each song in a few sentences at most.

That’s fine Sacul. That’s all you really need to do.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

the bonus points are necessarily for the longest stories, right?

They are indeed. You're screwed.

That being said, my story is actually good. :) I'm not ashamed to say that I actually shed a few tears over my concept album.

The Bonus Points will be basically how do your songs support and move forward your narrative.

Stories that are 50 or 5000 words won’t really matter, except to entertain all of us.

cool  :metal 50 words it is then

my process is to pick all the songs i want, type out their story significance, and then pick the songs that work best & are also most musically cohesive for what i'm trying to do

right now i'm down to 9 songs but i kinda want to cut it to just 7

My album is cinematic as fuck tbh, might not be up Tim's alley but it's great

I believe he said we have until Friday.  Not that I couldn't use some help not being in last place... But if you want to send something else, or maybe just edit what you already sent, you have time. I know you want to use the rap EP, but TAC really doesn't want to listen to it.  He wouldn't appreciate it the way it deserves, and I don't say that as an insult to TAC, because I'd probably be in the same boat, or as an insult to you because I know you worked hard on it.

Why not save it up for someone who might enjoy it?  Then you'll have something that's pretty much ready to go for the future, and TAC will have something he might like for this one.

Jeez, am I the only one not writing a novel with thousands of words? I mean, concept albums don't normally have that.

I didn't think about this but this is true.  I guess because we are using songs from different bands, there needs to be some guide in how all the songs tie together with the story.

in gathering the lyrics for my songs to send to you, i found out that an album i'd never seen a physical release for had a CD for sale on the band's bandcamp page, which I then immediately ordered because the album slays. thanks, TAC!

anyways, i have sent! 87 minutes because i said "screw it all these songs rule, 8/10's all the way down baby"

also i did end up writing like 2000 words for my story woops. it's the darkest story i've done in a concept album round for sure, where things start bad and end worse  :lol at least my other concept albums had bittersweet/vaguely positive endings but this one is just grimdark and it was always going to be because the finale track was one of the first two i picked out (the other one being my double points song)

anyways incredibly ready for my 8/10's  :metal

Your one for me ended with the entire universe being destroyed so this new one must be pretty damn bleak.

the entire universe was destroyed but also reborn, indicating that life is cyclical and eternal. it's actually pretty optimistic

this one ends with 1. probably all of humanity dead 2. the protagonist in an endless limbo with no hope of escape

so  :corn

anyways i gotta do my results writeups later but i spent like most of my morning finishing this one up so i don't have the energy for that right now
