DISCLAIMER: This round, much like the first round, was alarmingly strong, and even the lowest scoring song is pretty awesome. Don't get too upset if you did poorly, because everyone wins this one.5 Points - AcidRainLTE
Audioslave - Show Me How to LiveI'm really not sure why I haven't checked these guys out sooner. My favorite part of Soundgarden is the vocals, and my favorite part of RATM is the riffs. This song was pretty much destined to win the round. That main riff has the classic RATM feel, that is, heavy and groovy as fuck. The vocals are appropriately awesome. Cornell's such a beast, especially in the chorus. Another song that's going to be stuck in my head for quite a while.

Enchant - New MoonFirst off, let me just address you on a personal level, DTVT. You are on a fast-track to winning this roulette if you continue to hit me with material as awesome as this. I'd pretty much call this THE line between progressive rock and metal. It makes perfect sense why the singer would be one of your favorites. He's amazingly good. My true praise on this song goes to the guitar player though. That was one hell of a solo. Hearing the bass is always a plus as well.

The Mars Volta - Son Et Lumiere/Inertiatic ESPThis is a really great song. The intro track as it were does perfectly to set up the mood, and when the electric guitars kick in, it's a great release. The vocals are pretty awesome, but he's got kind of that girly quality that I'm not too fond of. Luckily, it goes away. Not too much to say about this one. Very solid track.

Deep Purple - Vavoom: Ted the MechanicFirst off, these riffs are awesome. Second, I adore the feel of the song. It's got a great 70s vibe, but it was done in the late 90s. Very admirable. Lots of catchy melodies, especially the guitar melody right before the solo and Ian's ridiculously high note. The solo's not too shabby either.

Modest Mouse - BukowskiYou're quite right. The lyrics definitely add to the song. I was pretty weary on this song, since I've never liked Modest Mouse very much, but this was a pleasant surprise. I'm not really sure why I like the song so much. I can't really pick out any individual parts that stuck out to me more than anything else, so it must just be that the sum of the parts turned out to be great.

Fleet Foxes - Your ProtectorThis is definitely a song I could see in a Western. The song has a very soothing quality to it, mainly due to the vocals. Again, I can't really pinpoint why this is such a great song, it's just another one of those "because it is" scenarios.

Made Out of Babies - Silverback"WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" indeed. I was never big on Battle of Mice, and Julie Christmas was a pretty big part of why, I'm afraid. She's a great singer, but her good vocals don't fit the music, and the vocals that do fit the music aren't that great. Still, a part of me really likes this song for some reason. It could be just the general insanity factor.

Peter Gabriel - Red RainGod dammit.
If you had sent this song last round, you probably would have easily scored in the upper tier. Repeating my above disclaimer, this song is really great, it's just not as great as the others, and it's a very thin line indeed. Very ambient and atmospheric. I dig it.

ROUND 4: A THEME?!? HOLY SHIT!!Alright, so for the next round, I think we'll actually have a theme. As you should all know, I'm a guitar player, and a big part of music to me is the guitar work, so for the next round, let's have a song with awesome guitar work. It can be a riff, a solo, a melody, whatever. It just needs to be awesome. Since metal as a genre is also very fond of the guitar, I'm going to lift the cap on no-metal for this round only.
