This round has the highest high of the roulette so far, but also the lowest scores, heh. Have fun.

Gojira -
L'Enfant Sauvage Well this is heavy as fuck. So this is how whalecore sounds. Nice. You know… I feel this is heavy for heaviness' sake, for I find little interesting music here, only BLAST BEATS, BLAST BEATS, HARSH VOCALS, HEAVY RIFFING, MORE BLAST BEATS. WHAAAAAALEEEE. Meh.

Kayo Dot -
Zlida CaosgiI added Hubardo to the list because a friend of mine showed me a song that I can't recall its name now, but was pretty atmospheric and chill. So when I told him (he's a huge Toby Driver fan) that somebody sent me this track from this album, he was like "dude, that's the most chaotic tune on the record". Well he was right, this song is just mindfuck, and pure chaos. Although it goes many places, I found all of them uninteresting. Nothing actually bad on this track, but nothing remarkable, or that connects with me, really - this style ain't my cuppa tea.

Karnivool -
We Are Great guitar sound, but the song doesn't do much for me, really - it's just ok. Don't know why exactly, but it felt a bit shallow in terms of songwriting, I guess.
3/5(senecadawg2)
Emilie Autumn -
I Swallow Well this is a pretty interesting piece that mixes many styles very well. My problem is… that it repeats itself too much. Like, there's little flow from the chorus to the rest of the music and vice versa. And the chorus is repeated like 4 times in 6 mins and every time is identical. She has a nice voice, and sings pretty catchy melodies, but I wished there was more focus on the instrumentation, really. Specially on that sweet violin.

Metallica -
One (Live with the SFSO)Well, I don't really dig the neoclassical vibes at the beginning. I love some neoclassical, but I don't like how its done here. But from there it just gets better and better. Specially the heavier parts, when the singer reaches the climax, leading to just a nice guitar solo - I guess I'm not blown away by solos anymore. With one half of the song that it's ok at best, and other that it pretty good, I can't rate this higher.
+3/5(Evermind)
The Gentle Storm -
New Horizons I've always preferred folky Arjen to metal Arjen, and this song reflects the former style. This is pretty nice and well written, I love the acoustic instrumentation here, and Anneke's vocals. As usual, the production is top-notch. This is a nice little ballad, yet I feel I should like it more. Maybe a little bit cheesy?
4/5(Train of Naught)
Slash feat. Miles Kennedy & The Conspirators -
Beneath the Savage Sun This is by far the guitar work I've heard of Slash, pretty dark and heavy. Miles' vocals are excellent here, he does a great job. A pretty interesting song, quite heavy, but well written at the same time. And although I don't really pay much attention to solos nowadays, that's a pretty good one. I guess this case is similar to Alter Bridge to me - although Blackbird has 1 or 2 highlights, and most songs on their own aren't fantastic, as a whole it forms a very consistent album. I hope this is also the case here.
4/5 (Tyrias)
Thrice -
Red Sky I normally step way from anything labeled "post-hardcore" and such, for it's a genre I don't really like melodic-wise. So I was worried about this song. But it actually has some great melodies, and a very melancholic vibe that I dig. It's better written than I had expected, and I quite enjoyed it.
4/5(splent)
Snarky Puppy -
Something I remember some of my friends used to play this band on plug.dj sessions, and I like the joy of these musicians playing together, how they understood each other, and the great time they were having. So I added one of their albums, but you sent me something from other record, interesting
Well this is pretty nice, and confirms me that these folks make some tasty music together. But the centrepiece of the record is the great singer, who, as you mentioned, starts doing some insane things later in the songs. I always have had the feeling jazz would be something I could not get into, but I quite like this, and will happily check some of Snarky's albums.
4/5(Bolsters)
Lorde -
Glory And Gore
I really like the production and sounds of this song, and her voice is goddamn sexy. Pretty interesting, and catchy song. Don't have much to say about this one, other than I enjoyed both Lorde songs a lot. And the other one a bit more.
4/5(Shadow Ninja 2.0)
Shamrain -
To LeaveThis is a very interesting piece, and reminds me a lot to Opeth's Damnation for its use of acoustic instrumentation and mellotrons. I've gotta say, this chorus is fantastic. The energy and emotion of the vocals… yes. Quite a sad, yet nice piece. A bit short, and kind of ends abruptly tho.
+4/5(Parama)
Lorde -
Buzzcut SeasonThis is a very interesting piece of pop. I love the little piano playing in the background, and the subtle beats - excellent production. Althoough at first it sounded strange I wanna marry her voice. +
4/5(Elite)
Anna Von Hausswolff -
DiscoveryOh shit this is epic as fuck. The beginning sounds like Inception and then creates some surreal soundscapes that I quite dig, specially using a FUCKING CHURCH PIPE ORGAN YES. Then it goes quiet... Just to build up again. This time with her haunting voice, and some epic backing vocals. Damn, this is epic and feels way shorter than it is.
4.5/5(Fluffy Lothario)
Soundgarden -
SuperunknownDamn, what a fantastic singer. Like, he actually is the centrepiece of the song, and oh shit he elevates everything a fucking lot. Like, if this had a different guy or just different melodies, it would have just been ok. Instead, I find a vocalist that not only has a great sense of rhythm but a great melodic mind. Although at first I thought the guitar work was just ok, I've grown to appreciate it a lot, even the little solo. And I thought Nirvana was a representation of grunge, heh - this is better than anything on Nevermind. Excellent track.
4.5/5(FlyingBIZKIT)
Glen Hansard -
Bird of SorrowHoly. Shit. This is one of the best songs I've listened to in a long, long time. The first half is some pretty nice singer/songwriter stuff. But the climax… holy fucking shit, YES. IIII'M NOT LEAAAAAVIIIIIINNG. And HAAAAAAAANGING OOOONNN, give me fucking chills every fucking time, and almost makes me tear up. Knowing about the story behind the lyrics… it's just crushing. I can definitely see why this song gets high scores in virtually every survivor. Sorry seneca, but the biscuit won you this time.

Mr Fluffy is on a roll, and has just barely surpassed Shadow Ninja (who is doing better than expected!?). Former roulette leader home has been on a downward spiral these last two rounds, and lands in the middle. Could he return to the top 5? With just one dud and a consistent output overall, Elite and Parama have a firm spot right there, but shouldn't relax yet. In the meantime, both Bolsters and the Biscuit are having a tough DEATH MATCH DUEL WITH LIGHTSABERS AND UNICORNS to determine who gets in the big finals. Most of the other players have a chance to scaling up if they play well, except mikemangioy, who still hasn't sent me Adrenaline Mob
You know this is is just my opinion, right? So what did you think of this round? Love it? Hate it? Why? What other songs should I score next? Please leave me your response in PMs (within 48 hs). Saculthony Roulettetano, Round 4... forever. Tran-
