So luckily, our hotel had hot complimentary breakfast. Score. Off to the show.
I should mention that this guy here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogEX7OGRCkk&list=PLS3kZYph0cAXGR-M6Ju_kGtctmwdkViA7Has videos of a LOT of the weekend. 101 videos. It starts off on Unskinny Bop, but to the right of the video is a scrollable list of the videos he took form the weekend.
First up, on the main stage, a band called Korupt. Apparently they've been around since the early 80's, though I'd never heard of them til M3. I know next to nothing about them, but I will say they sounded pretty good. Bonus - they did a ripping cover of Green Manalishi. It wasn't Judas Priest, but still damn good.
Next up on the main stage was Love/Hate. I know "Rock Queen" from an 80's compilation I had and, of course, Blackout in the Red Room. Another "filler" band to start the day off with, but again, they put on a respectable show.
Why Do You Think They Call It Dope?
Tumbleweed
She's An Angel
Wasted In America
Blackout In The Red Room
Over to the Festival Stage, Streetlight Circus, an independent band form NY went on for another short set. These guys are fairly well unknown, but they sound great and after 2 years of exposure at M3 are hopefully making a good name for themselves. To my surprise, they did a cover of Kiss' "Do You Love Me". Very cool. Not necessarily an OBSCURE Kiss tune, but DEFINITELY not even in the top 20 I'd think someone would cover.
Back to the main stage for Steelheart, a band I'd been looking forward to seeing for some time. I have to say, I was disappointed they weren't up later with a longer set. I'd have loved to hear some of their more well known songs, but no matter, Miljenko Matijevic still slays. And yes, he can still hit the money notes on I'll Never Let You Go. Wow. It's one thing to hear that kind of hair raising vocal on a recording, to hear it live is just flat out
. Another surprise, they did We All Die Young and Blood Pollution from the Rockstar soundtrack. Great, albeit too short, set:
Blood Pollution
Gimme Gimme
Like Never Before
Cabernet
We All Die Young
I'll Never Let You Go
So after they finish up, there's a short break in the day to help keep themselves on schedule, while Trixter gets set up on the main stage. They are one of those bands that had a few great tunes, but came out so late in the game that they never really caught on. They've put on a great show everytime we've seen them, as they did when I saw them open for Kiss back on the Revenge tour.
Drag Me Down
Road of a Thousand Dreams
Heart of Steel
Machine
Line of Fire
One in a Million
Give it to Me Good
Next on the Festival Stage was Tuff. Nobody I've heard of outside of M3, though they appear to have been around a long time also. Nothing that really slayed me, but still in the spirit of the day, it's good stuff.
God Bless This Mess
Good Guys Wear Black
I Hate Kissing You Goodbye
Ruck-a-Pit Bridge
American Hair Band
Of note, the song "American Hair Band" is basically a very odd mish-mash of Sad But True, sung by a Kid Rock wannabe, except that the lyrics have about every 80's metal reference you could think of jammed into it. Still not sure what to make of it:
