Suddenly I became curious. I almost never watch TV anymore. I used it recently to catch Korra for 20 minutes every week, but other than that, never. I find that the internet satisfies my need for all entertainment.
(let me know if you need another option)
EDIT: This thread is supposed to refer to live streaming TV.

I voted "a couple of hours every day" because it's closest to the truth.
I don't have cable, but I have a bunch of my favorite shows on DVD and I watch some Netflix and Hulu. And I like having music or TV playing in the background when I'm doing stuff.
-
Never. As in LITERALLY never.
In fact the only times I watch TV is when I'm at other people's homes or when the European or World Championships of football are on. I don't even have a tv, so that really is my answer.
-
I watch a boat load of TV. But then again, I'm old. I work 10 hour days, get home, cook a meal and crash on the couch.
-
Baseball? All the time. And I mean all the time
-
Other than Top Chef and South Park, and some sports, pretty much none.
-
Shows on stations? Almost never. Movies on DVD/BD or Netflix? Often.

Around 2 hours per day perhaps. I tend to watch before I go to sleep, helps me relax. I kinda need to slow down before I go to sleep, and by watching a bit of TV it's very easy for me to do that.

With that helpful bit of clarification, February-September: none. September-January: 15 hours a week, or so. Only watch football. Everything else is downloaded and usually ancient.
-
Voted teh second option but probably about half an hour a day, just when I'm going to bed.
-
I virtually never watch actual TV. I usually just hook my laptop up to my TV and watch netflix or downloaded movies through that.

I voted wrong then - my vote should be "none" instead of the 2nd option ("just enough... ").
-
Closer to never but i went with just enough to catch my favorite shows. I almost never watch TV on an actual TV.
-
None, for the most part. I'll stream the latest episode of Walking dead or Family guy from time to time, but other then that, pretty much never. My physical television I haven't turned on in years.
As a kid, I used to watch up to 8+ hours of TV a day and more then 12 hours a day on the weekend and then just totally stopped cold turkey at age 20. I think I've wasted enough of my life on it.

That's exactly me.

I rarely watch tv. Sometimes I'll put it on to catch whatever game is on (for instance tonight I witnessed yet another infuriating Phillies' bullpen collapse). But even then the game still kind of just serves as background noise.
I work about 70 hours a week so I don't really have time, but even before I took on my second job I still rarely put the TV on. I used to turn on ABC in the morning to catch weather and traffic but I don't even bother with that anymore either because 1) traffic is fucked in the same place every day, regardless and 2) weather doesn't matter when you work indoors anyway.
I'm just not interested in whatever shows are on. Some of them seem like they could be pretty good, but I'm one of those people who refuses to watch something from the middle, so if I don't catch the first second of the first episode then chances are I'm never going to actually invest the time to watch the show.
I just don't care enough. I'd rather read anyway.

"Just enough to catch my favorite shows every week."
I don't just watch TV to pass time. I only go out of my way to watch a show I actually really want to see, otherwise I'm on the computer. And there's a certain show I watch every day while eating dinner, so that counts for half an hour every day, but I watch it mostly because I like to be watching something while eating dinner.
So all in all it averages out to less than an hour a day.
-
I don't anymore, for the most part. The only reasons I ever turn on my TV:
1. The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. I watch them nightly, so basically I watch one hour of TV per day.
2. New episodes of South Park, Family Guy, or American Dad.
3. Forensic Files on TruTV. It comes on late at night, and sometimes when it's on, I watch it. But I don't keep up with it or anything.
That's it.

This.

Only tennis or the NBA, I don't really watch shows.
-
Except for catching the news, and maybe a show or two here and there on Nat Geo / Discovery Channel, along with games during the NBA season, really not much else. :hat
-
None of these options really works for me. I don't have enough time in my life to watch enough television to catch up with all of my favorite shows each week. On an average day I probably watch 2 hours of television and at least one hour of that is the local evening news followed by a network news broadcast (usually NBC Nightly News)
After that we typically catch one or two episodes of something on NetFlix and by then I am in bed since I get up at 3:30am every day to go work out before work.
-
Depends. I don't ever watch TV series on TV or anything. It's mostly sports for me, whenever there's XC skiing, biathlon or big cycling races on TV.
-
I watch a lot of TV. Just very little of it on a television.
I'm following about 24 currently running TV shows.
-
None, despite having free cable for a couple years now (the cable company just... forgot to discontinue our service after we canceled). I stream/download all my TV shows.
-
The only show I have ever followed on cable television is Legend of Korra.
Second option.
-
None. But that may change when the Walking Dead season 3 begins... ;)
-
I have a few shows I watch on cable (we have the most basic that Time Warner would give us... 30 digital channels... + HBO for a few months... and I have a select few shows on Hulu that I enjoy (currently on season 6 of Desperate Housewives... haters gonna hate)
-
I picked 'enough to watch my favorite TV shows' although that doesn't really describe my TV habits quite so well. I don't really 'watch TV', as in I don't even really tune in whenever my favorite TV show is on, but rather I'll set a seasonal recording type deal and just have them record the whole season and watch them at my leisure. I mean, I don't sit down and just watch whatever is on TV, channel surf, etc. Whenever I'm even looking at a TV, it's either specifically for a series I am watching (which, right now since House is done, is just Walking Dead and Game of Thrones) or a movie. So I watch TV literally, but I cannot remember the last time I've sat down and just watched a channel or channel surfed for entertainment; and I really doubt I ever will again. 98% (I did the calculations fuck you) of the shit on TV makes me want to go all Hitler except for every race imaginable. Even Saiyans. I know, I know... I'm fucked up.
-
I don't watch TV except for what I catch on Netflix. However, this changes during football season.
-
I only watch for a couple of TV dramas that have recently completed their seasons, so now only to find a good movie.
-
I don't watch TV really, I can just watch what I want on iPlayer.
-
Not much, because there are not many good shows going now. The second one. I watch Modern Family, Pan Am and news currently.
-

Not that I've had a Sunday off in over a year, but yeah...all bets are off during football season. There is no better way to spend a Sunday than lying on the couch watching football all day.
-
There needs to be something between None and Just Enough, because while I do watch television on occasion, there can be times where I turn on the TV and see it's on the same channel it was on a week before. There are exceptions, largely sports based-I watched a lot of the Stanley Cup playoffs, and I'll probably watch the occasional bit of Olympics coverage when it starts-but unless I have an appointment TV show on, like Game of Thrones, my TV generally is used for "when I feel like playing a blu ray."
-
It definitely varies, anywhere from none to 8 hours a day. On average, I would say about 2-3 hours (at least now). During the school year, less.
-
Very close to never. Maybe a couple times a year at home. I recently watched a lot of TV while staying in hotels to pass the time, and it was even worse than it was a few years ago. Besides occasional sporting events, it's a vast wasteland. :|
-
Don't watch TV. I watch movies sometimes, and maybe go through a season of a TV show via DVD, but I never watch TV.
-
Hardly ever, just occasionally sometimes before I fall asleep, to watch a particular TV series, or perhaps a movie. Normally I'm too busy to watch any extraordinary amounts of TV.
-
Chose the second option. I watch a lot of anime, but as far as new stuff that I watch on cable, really only Game of Thrones, How I Met Your Mother, and Community.
-
none. surprised to see so many others that don't watch..
