Am UniversumThe first 3 are absolutely essential (sorry, no big fan of Silent Wanters). Throw in Tuonela if you want some variety and you have a very strong introduction to the marvel Amorphis is. I can´t wait to buy the CD/DVD but not living in the US anymore limits my ability to acquire new music. Am Universum is my favorite.

Special road report by Mark GromenIn Sonic Pump Studios, on the outskirts of Helsinki, AMORPHIS premiered their latest twelve track opus for an assemblage of foreign journalists, as well as homegrown fans. Even the album artwork is still in transition, as an egg hovers in the clouds above a groove of snow covered pine trees, the familiar arched Hammer Of Thor symbol is crudely depicted on the shell. Neither label reps, nor management had heard the album prior to the listening session! Bold move. The still unmastered disc, rumored to go under the title of Beginning Of Time (the last song on the album) will be finalized within the coming week.Tracklisting (running order still subject to change): 'Mermaid', 'My Enemy', 'You I Need', 'Battle For Light', 'Three Words', 'On A Stranded Shore', 'Escape', 'Reformation', 'Soothsayer', 'Song Of The Sage', 'Crack In A Stone' and 'Beginning Of Time'.The songs feature plenty of death vocals from Tomi Joutsen, as well a couple of new wrinkles. It will be released on May 27th through Nuclear Blast.
Hey, at least Far From The Sun isn't in the top 7
"Plenty of death vocals" eh?I are excite.

This gentleman has taste, folks.
As Ariich has just accepted me as a friend on Lastfm I celebrated by giving his top played band a listen. I'd never heard anything by Amorphis so had a listen to Skyforger on Spotify and I'm liking it alot. not a fan of growls but coped with them on Static Impulse so giving this a go. I expected more Death-y stuff so pleasantly surprised.

They can be so cheesy though. I DRANK THE WHITE MILK I SWALLOWED THE RED MILK.
