Too bad it's dying in the TV seen. I hope the movies spark enough hype that we'll get another series.

It will be a while before we get another series. By running TNG, Voyager, DS9, and Enterprise so close together, the fan base got bored. A few years before another series would be good...get some fresh ideas going. Hell, I think a series from the point of view of one of the other races would be really cool.

Never been a fan of Star Trek, but no one can't admire the fact that something like this has been going on for 45 years, and is still popular amongst a large portion of the worlds population.
Props to you, Star Trek.

Not to mention a character from the most disliked of all Trek series. That really takes a true hardcore fan.

Hope we get a new series sooner than later.

How long's a while? Because David Foster is about to pitch a series to CBS. (https://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/112576-New-Star-Trek-Series-Pitch-Approaches-Warp-Speed)

That means nothing. Every man and his dog has pitched a Trek series in the past couple of years, many of them higher up than this guy. CBS just isn't interested in making a new Trek series right now, at least anything like this.
-
Are they not interested, or have they just had shitty pitches? I'm sure they're fully aware of the cash they could rake in if they aired a legitimately good series.
-
It seems they're really not interested in the investment of it right now. And I definitely don't think this is the kind of pitch they'd take to revive the franchise on television.
If anything I'd say this idea is more likely-
