might I suggest the expanded edition of One More For The Road to you? It's great, especially if you like their music and it has the full show in its actual order as it happened. (the vinyl and CD editions previous to it did not)

ok, back to what I've been listening to today and that was Michael Jackson: Thriller
"All my natural instincts are begging me to stop
But somehow I carry on, heading for the top
A physical absurdity, a tremendous mental game
Helping me understand exactly who I am"

I'm not really a fan, but I heard them on the radio this morning and I thought I'd hit one of their albums in full today. I forgot about it at work, so I picked this one randomly.
I saw the info on One More For The Road, and I will be putting that on the list.

Anytime I've dabbled in southern rock, I lean way more to some of the heavier bands like Blackfoot and Molly Hatchet. As much as I've heard Lynyrd Skynyd in my life from the radio, I've never really given myself an opportunity to really try and get into them. Not saying that's happening here, because ultimately, they are just outside of my comfort zone.

That first album on top is Nawabs of Destruction - Rising Vengeance. From Bangladesh, this came out in 2020. Super, super-tasty melodic death metal. The ingredients are not super-new, but they are combined in a very fresh way...lots of energy, good vocals (both harsh and clean) and some cool keyboards as well as clean guitars. The closer, The Merciless, has a Children of Bodom vibe when it gets going and it's a pretty triumphant end to the proceedings. I'd recommend it to fans of the genre (Kade, Luke...?)

I'm gonna use this next time I get undressed and see what my wife says.

This is probably my favorite album of theirs. (I have heard very little of the more recent ones.) It has these Testament-sounding semi-thrashers combined with some pretty epic stuff. I mean, Jon Schaffer basically has one riff with some variations on it, but when it hits the spot, it works  ;D

It's OK. I was torn between this and Dark Saga. I really find something lacking in the production of the pre Alive In Athens albums, which is what makes Alive In Athens great. It's the heavy metal version of Frampton Comes Alive. It's all you really need.

I could never really pick a fav from IE, they are all good to excellent.  But AIA trumps everything, so if I could choose AIA as my fav, that would be it.

Dillom - Por Cesárea

Such a wild album - a mixture of Experimental Hip Hop with Trip Hop, Post Punk, hints of Jazz and Dream Pop, and many other sounds. It flows so well too.
Damn this is a very, very exciting year for new music, at least to me.

Never heard of them dude, but despite Tim's mental images trying to sabotage my enjoyment, I've lined them up for today's listening.

Currently on Frank Turner's latest, Undefeated, which is hitting the spot...

One More For The Road is a great album.

Try one of the later albums.  I suggest ‘Last of a Dyin’ Breed’

If you like Skynyrd, try the band Black Stone Cherry.

I don't even really know how to describe this one. It's like some Avant-garde extreme metal, with violins, harpsichords, and other classical elements. Sometimes it's kinda viking metal, others it sounds like fucking Greensleeves! Anyone?..

The version of A Question of Heaven from Alive in Athens still gives me goosebumps when I put it on.  So good!  AiA was the first Iced Earth album I bought, and that would be the one to keep if I could only have one IE album as well.
