My bike has been off the road for a month now and I don't miss it in the slightest

It's been really nice weather as of late and i've preferred walking around the Nature Reserve by my house after work in the sunshine racking up the miles.

I'd rather walk 10 miles a day and get some exercise in the sunshine and in a nice environment than spend money on petrol driving somewhere and seeing nothing...

Well..

Odd news today. I go to work often after hours when there's a gig on or open mic - to voluntarily help get the cafe ready for the next day. Wrap cutlery - top up condiments etc.

Lately a friend of the Manager has been popping in to hang out and to listen to the bands and chat with the Manager.

Today I was in work and the Manager was on the phone and I heard him say that he'd taken his own life

I've never known anyone who'd done that before and it's a bizarre thing knowing you'll never ever see them again....

I'm sorry to hear about your managers loss. Luckily I've never had anyone close to me take their own life.

Work stinks. I've lost a 3rd of my workforce. Wal Mart is so busy. I've never seen them this busy. I've got a guy going on vacation and my boss is stealing my second best guy to help at another site. Fun times.

Oh and I'm having a terrible time getting new hires and temp employees are the worst.

Why did you lose a 3rd of your workforce? I'm in the slow period at the hotel, we can go almost a whole day without a phonecall and it's fantastic.

2 retired. 2 went for more money. 1 broke up with his girlfriend couldn't afford his apartment alone and moved back with his parents, 1 1/2 hours away from here. 1 I had to fire and another was tired of trying to be straight and narrow and wanted to go back to jail because it was easier than living in the real world. Crazy huh?!

Yup. 22 employees 7 gone and it's the busiest it's ever been. Even this big Wal Mart DC which we work in that pays $4 more an hour than we do is struggling hiring as well.

Ugh. I love walking around in the sunshine more. My bike has no top box so If I want to go to the beach - I basically have to carry around a massively padded jacket and helmet / gloves with me.

Walking around the Nature Reserve - I can go in shorts and T shirt and not have to worry about my bike or my bike outfit

Couldn't care less if I never get back on the bike to be quite honest. I needed it before I moved but now I don't. Plus my arms still ache like a bitch when I ride.

Out of curiosity what's the job description?

We are a contracted company working in the Wal Mart Distribution Center in NH. They service 111 Wal Mart stores and we process all the used pallets by quality and ship them out as well as commingled product as well. we sort through on average 260,000 pallets a month.

So we were hit with a big tsunami advisory last night into this morning.

It was enough that Harbor Patrol told my guys at work to lock up and leave for "higher ground" (aka a shopping center next to us, which is a bit higher than our office, which is like 4 ft higher than the tide at high tide) between 4am and 6am.'

I woke up this morning (day off) to find that during that time, all hell broke lose. someone went on a rampage and broke into several vehicles.

2 temps no showed last night. My guys did not check in to see if they were in their work station for 4 hours. Then the temp agency had no answers and could not get anybody to come in. I want to hurt people today.
