What I'm applying for is a scholarship of the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes. Very prestigious, you can only even apply if you are suggested by somebody with the power to suggest people, and they give out scholarships based on accomplishments alone.

Oh, that's very good. Good luck with that! How were you able to apply then? Good scores for your Abitur?

Study in Göttingen is going pretty well, I have my final exam for the summer school thing in a little over a week. If I pass that I'll already have completed the first maths subject before the semester has even started. That would be nice!

Been looking at chairs myself to replace my currently dying computer chair as soon as I have money come in. I've been looking at drafting chairs for height to go with the standing desk I'm looking to get. Hoping I can leave the desk at standing height and just have a higher chair.

Usually I just go into our office supply store, try out some cheaper chairs and pick one out, which has worked just fine in the past.
Because I spend so much time at my computer and am not particularly fit or active, I thought I'd try to put together a better setup this time. The chairs I'm looking at are around $200-$250, which is double what I normally pay for a chair, but they're certified for 8+ hour use, so they should be better on my back for long periods. I'm also looking at some other furniture to get my room setup more usable.

I partly agree. The weather here in Germany sure is nice for this time of year. Not too much rain, about 15 degrees Celsius and when the sun comes out it's actually pretty nice. Regarding winter: I do think it's depressing when it's so grey all the time, but a bit of snow looks really nice, especially when the sun comes out.

I would really enjoy some cold weather here. In Florida we have two seasons, summer and February.

It's better having a job in Winter as you can be busy doing that and the days fly by.

It has been a really LONG summer though. I moved back to Wales April the 3rd and it's pretty much been warm and sunny the entire time - with the odd few days of rain here and there obviously.

I always say the best thing about Summer ending is that you have *next* spring and summer to look forward to

I think early Autumn and mid-Winter can be pretty beautiful. The only part of those seasons I very much dislike are the parts when there's only rain and everything's grey. I can stand and even like a bit of rain now and then, it's just when it rains continuously for days on end with all the leafless trees and vegetation that I start to feel down.

Went to the park with my brother and niece and sprained my ankle bad. Bad things happen outdoors. I should have known better.
It better be fine for Saturday, because that's Oz Comic-Con dangit.

The part of the park with the equipment is elevated from the grass around it, and I stepped on the edge badly and twisted my ankle.

A year ago or so I was walking down the stairs to go to dinner, somehow while daydreaming I thought I was closer to the bottom of the stairs than I really was, turned out I missed three steps and landed on my ankle. Hurt bad, swelled up. Exactly one week later on the same flight of stairs I do the exact same thing, this time it's way more serious and I can feel things tearing in there, since then my ankle has never been the same.

Damn. Hurting it the first time probably worked towards the second time too.

One time at school I tried to jump up I think 7 steps and smacked my foot into the top step and twisted it really bad. I had a couple of days off school, plus the weekend for it to recover. Actually, I think it was the same ankle, so maybe that didn't help either.
