A Dramatic Turn Of Events
On The Backs Of Angels
Build Me Up, Break Me Down
Lost Not Forgotten
This Is The Life
Bridges In The Sky
Outcry
Far From Heaven
Breaking All Illusions
Beneath The Surface
After the departure of Portnoy, the band sought to return to form...or forms (neither here nor there), but they released a very well-received record, full of modern-classics like "Breaking All Illusions" and "Bridges In The Sky". Lots of fan favorites in this one, so it'll be interesting to see which ones make it to the Top 3!

Lost not Forgotten. It's good, I just personally don't click with the vibe and the atmosphere.
-
Far From Heaven
One of my least favourite DT piano ballad type songs.

Voted BMUBMD, but I love every song on this album, so it doesn't really matter.
It'll be interesting to see how Breaking All Illusions gets on in this survivor format. In DT the League, it reached the Championship match twice, and the other two times it got to the semi-finals stage. I can't remember how it got on in 2012, the last time the DT Survivor was run.

literally the worst dt song
also piss off far from heaven is great
-
Far From Heaven is amazing. Better than BMUBMD, but all songs here are again amazing. I wouldn't mind if Beneath the Surface made it to the finals. This is the Life is amazing and the epics, omg, they are the best.
Very very hard.

Beneath The Surface by a country mile, all the other songs are at least great and at best some of the best DT songs ever.

great at being a boring song sure

BTS on the other hand is one of DT's best ballads... wth

I remember the first time I heard Beneath the Surface, great song, it goes into the last chorus, James starts soft "Until one day I stopped caring..." and I was thinking "Pity, it could have been better if he had gone high for the last chorus".
And he does!!!! brilliant moment and fitting closure for an album, it's a beautiful ballad.

BMUBMD

I love the whole album, but I'm going with BMUBMD.

I agree with this. For me, this album ends with Breaking All Illusions. I don't even acknowledge the existence of the last song, one of my least favorite DT songs of all time.

This is the Life. Can't stand it.

Lost Not Forgotten
One of the less interesting songs on here, but still very good. The album as a whole is tremendous, a modern day classic.

Poor BMUBMD. I'm sure I enjoy it more than most here.
-
I for one adore BMUBMD and consider it one of the more unique songs in the band's catalogue. It features one of their heaviest riffs, an insanely catchy chorus, some of LaBrie's most menacing screaming, gorgeous unison, and a bone-chilling, terrifying outro. Not to mention the use of samples and electronic beats fits impressively well, I wish the band did that more often.

To be fair, all songs here are beyond superb.
They will all remain the best in my heart.
