Not joking, not kidding, not being facetious:
I painted half my bathroom (long story, not relevant) and installed a new Delta Foundations toilet this weekend. I'm not really a neat-freak, but I am a little precious of my own "dirt" as it were. So when I move into a house that isn't new, I generally have painted every room, and if they aren't relatively new, I swap out the switches and outlets, as well as the toilets. Seriously. So we moved into a house in July - that I love (more on that later) - and the people smoked. Add to that that we have some indication they did a LOT of tidying up to make ready for sale (i.e. they weren't very clean people). So I've got about 75% of the main floor repainted - one kid's room, the kitchen and the hallway to go - and I've painted and swapped out all the switches and plugs. Most of the fixtures have this brown crud at the point of where the cover is, indicating that they haven't been cleaned in any way. So this weekend was the master bath. New toilet, new GFI and four switches, and I feel like I'm in paradise.
As for the "more on that", another thing that made me happy this weekend: I got up early on Sunday, about 7:00 or so, made a cup of coffee and sat on my couch to play a little Lego Marvel Superheroes on the PS3. In that room I have a nice double slider looking out on my back yard and it was so peaceful and relaxing; the sun was out (though it was cold) and the leaves are brown, and it was like being in my own little world. So relaxing. Later that morning, a black bear made his/her way up my driveway and across the yard.
