According to RYM I have:

Insomnium - Songs of the Dusk
Pendulum - Anima
Spiritbox - The Fear of Fear

Might check out the Angra but not really been interested in their last few albums.

Looking forward to the Spiritbox EP. Haven't listened to the singles yet.

Just finished my first Spin of the Spiritbox EP.... Fucking amazing.  :hefdaddy

If you like pretty, atmospheric synthpop you should listen to Midnight Tangerine by death's dynamic shroud, which just went up on streaming today!

They have two other albums they put up today if you want more. :neverusethis: They're more experimental and instrumental, though. But I would highly recommend Transcendence Bot - it's a very melodic, massive-sounding album with some more industrial elements.

Listening as we speak. The first two songs are FANTASTIC. Here's hoping the rest is as good!

The whole thing is fantastic, certainly a worthy addition to contenders for higher up on my year end list.  Definitely one of my favorite newer bands.  Meaty production, blistering intensity yet still extremely melodic, good solos, dashes of acoustic guitar, orchestration, guest vocals from Therese Thompson and Jens Ryden, it just about has it all.

It was just a wall of noise. They released a 2 song EP earlier this year and that seemed to have a bit more breathing room.

I don't know, maybe it opens up in the second half, but someone would have to let me know.

I don't love everything in that style, and in fact, I dislike more than I like, but every now and then it hits the spot.

Yeah, actually it's not a style I go for either, these days...not generally, at least. I didn't even really know their previous output. But, as Litho said, this one seems to have quite a bit going for it...fury, melody and, yes, some variety within and across the songs. Really enjoyed on first pass. Let's see if it sticks.

For me they're definitely not a one-hit-wonder since they're not all that far off of a lot of the melodeath I like, just more blast beats and goblin-y vocals leaning them more towards black metal.

I'll be checking out the new...Dissona EP.

Yeah I have Dissona...

Just finished this.  3-song EPs are almost more of teasers, but this one was solid, hopefully it's a prelude to a full album in the near future.

I don't know if it's just me, but their vocalist continues to remind me of a baritone version of Lingua Ignota, which is weird, because I don't really care for her vocals and like his.

I'll check it out. The last one sounded so much like Dream Theater in spots.

Oh, I see JSS is on vocals. Probably will have to wait until tomorrow night.

A handful dropping today that have my ear:

DGM - Life
Temic - Terror Management Theory
Mangini - Invisible Signs
Derdian - New Era Pt 4
Signum Regis - Undivided
That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad
I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".
