Hate that feeling, but you never know. When I interviewed for the job I'm at now I didn't hear anything for a week afterwards. Turns out they were just getting all their ducks in a row as far as approvals to make me an offer (which, at a place as big as Citi, is always a PITA).
Of course. My logical mind realizes that. They told me they wanted to move in Q2, which is Monday, and that they'd "be in touch with next steps." But I've been around long enough to recognize buzz words and staple phrases when I hear them, so I'm wary. I also know the hiring manager is out of town Thursday and Friday this week, so that could delay things as well.
To assuage some of my insecurities, I took an opportunity to send a thank you email to the recruiter, also thanking the hiring manager whose email I don't have, for the phone interview and the entire process up to this point. Come off as endearing, professional, and apprecative and maybe I'll get rewarded. Everything about this job is right in my wheelhouse, and that includes a pretty substantial pay raise....I so don't want to fuck this up.
