In lieu of the death of Piotr Grudziński, I'm currently listening to Anno Domini High Definition.

:tup

:tup :tup :tup :tup seriously started to get sick of the output of modern instrumental prog metal artists/bands, it was all so redundant. Then Martin Anders suddenly turns up with string/bass sections and piano-driven pieces, I love this album, even more than Entities.

As are the other three  ;D getting to the end of working my way through Devin's back catalogue and Ghost is one of the last ones on my list. I like it marginally better than Casualties of Cool but I just don't get the urge to listen to this style of music often. It's perfect for listening to with my girlfriend though as it's the only style of Devin she can handle lol.

I just finished jamming this beauty after some weeks not listening to it  :metal

I'm not really into rhythm-based music, but this album has some fantastic beats and percussion  :o

Crack the Skye is so good, I was really disappointed with The Hunter when it first came out. It's grown on me a bit now and I quite like Once More Round the Sun but this is their last truly GREAT album in my opinion.

tbh Crack the Skye is the only Mastodon album i really like much at all. Blood Mountain is kinda inconsistent, The Hunter is p. boring, I couldn't finish a listen of Leviathan and I listened to Once More like twice and found it boring as heck both times

mostly i just don't get the hype behind them in general, i guess

I get most of that and mainly agree. I don't like the direction they went with the last two albums even though I do like some songs. Leviathan I really love though, it was the first album of theirs I heard back in 2004 and remains my #2. Blood Mountain was good but lacked something, even though whenever I listen to it I do love it from start to finish  :metal

Crack the skye and Once more round the sun are definitely my favorites by them. The hunter is ok, they really experimented on that one. I like blood mountain as well and Leviathan is growing on me. Not really a fan of Remission though.

follow-up on this.
i like this album, but i think any of the 3 EotW albums I have is better as a whole. the songs aren't bursting with creativity, the sludge metal sound of EotW works better than the early 2000's metal sound here (especially the vocals), it's just overall more interesting music to listen to. the last track especially just feels kinda weak. still pretty nice stuff though and it's fun to see what EotW evolved from

Damn good album. My friend I used to live with about 10 years ago is the biggest NIN fan I know. He wasn't the tidiest of flatmates but once a month he would bang on all his fave NIN albums and clean the flat from top to bottom whilst singing his heart out. Good times.

The Tea Club - Grappling
Prog Archives lists them as Crossover Prog but I disagree. I think they're more along the lines of Neo-Prog/Heavy Prog. Either way, it's really good.

Not got around to listening to this album yet as I'm still fairly new to Riverside. Due to recent events though I will be listening soon. Just want to say that this album cover is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. The colours are mesmerizing.
