I expected everyone to have a hard time getting a grip on what appeals to me, even the guys who probably thought they had me figured out (I think Chad felt that way...at first
). Infact it's one of the reasons I took so long to sign up to do a roulette in the first place, because I knew that my roulette would likely be frustrating and demoralising for most of the people involved in it.
I mean, you say I like straightforward stuff and that's definitely true, but on the other hand some of the more bleak reviews I've given out in the roulette so far are to songs that were too straightforward - some straightforward tracks scored very well here but others were complete disasters. And it's not like there aren't a couple of unusual things in my library or that I am incapable of appreciating the unusual, but that doesn't mean everything that is unusual is going to appeal to me. I think the only rule to successfully sending me songs that I will like is that there are no rules to follow; Just throw shit and see what sticks. I'm pretty sure that's all Shadow Ninja did and he still managed to get four stars in five rounds.
