The world of rock lost one of its most fiery front men ever 32 years ago today. Following his passing, AC/DC's career was miraculously saved by two hugely serendipitous factors:
1) They found Brian Johnson who proved to be a beyond-capable replacement
2) He sounded ridiculously similar to Bon and thus helped the band avoid suffering the all-too-common misfortune of replacing their original singer with one who sounds quite different (Van Halen probably being the most striking example.)
Regardless, the man was a menacing presence onstage and a fine example of what any "man's man" rock band should strive to have in a lead singer and the fact that he only got 33 years on this earth is a tragedy of great magnitude.
We'll miss you Bon \m/
