Great batch of albums, Astonished! Except for the Accept.   :lol

I listened to Still yesterday. Can't believe I don't see anyone talking about this band :/

I just discovered these guys yesterday and loved them. I've been really into the more melodic and darker prog sounds lately.

Is that a new Brainstorm, Paul? I bought their last album (the only one I have by them) but I never really played it that much. Don't really remember anything about it.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Yeah, released last Friday. Didn't know there was a new one due until seeing a video on Facebook. The lady one was good, this one is better. Metal how I like it. None of that happy, clappy power metal church hymn stuff.

I'll have to dig it out and give it a listen.  Will add the new one to The List.

Man, I think this is the first new year's resolution I've made good on to broaden my horizons with new bands. I've listened and subsequently got (heavily) into like 5 new bands within NYE and now. That's the amount of new bands I've gotten into in the past few YEARS before that.  :lol

Really loving these two bands.

I'd post Skyharbors new singles but they're sadly not albums yet. But I'm loving Eric's sound..

I guess you either don't like Accept or you're not into their "revival" sound, or like UDO more. I've got a massive love for Mark Tornillo's vocals, and Wolf's riffing, myself. Thanks for complimenting my taste in music, though! I'm gonna check out that Wolverine.

Never been a fan of Accept either until Blood of the Nations, with their new vocalist. (2010). Their old singer is inferior imo. Have you heard at least the song "Teutonic Terror"? I'm done with persuading either way.

I'm definitely supremely into Intronaut. Given that I recently-ish got into Tesseract, I'm not as into Skyharbor at the moment. Not to say I won't be in the future but after the huge kick I was on with Tesseract, Intronaut is immensely refreshing and still tickles my jazzy/prog/heavy tendencies.

I thought the new Brainstorm was one of their worst efforts - didn't get much I liked at all.

the next set of four. the penultimate set, even
The Ocean: i can always use more proggy post-metal in my life, i dig this a lot
Ne Obliviscaris: i feel like i'm going to like this album even more than Portal of I, which is already dman good. no songs better than Forget Not but it's more consistent
Baroness: man, these guys just have a knack for melodies and riffs, i really enjoyed this
Alcest: it's more alcest, and i dig that

for some reason i feel like this is going to be the best set of four thus far, i'm super hyped about all four of these

Bloom by Caligula's Horse is probably my favorite musical discovery of last year, and I can never get tired of this album. When I first heard it I was falling asleep, and I got out of bed and finished listening to it. It's been a long time since I enjoyed an album from a new band this much right off the bat, and I still adore it.
I feel strangely honored to be following up a post from Sir Walrus Cauliflower.

in a "whatever" mood tonight
twenty one pilots - meh. i was hoping for more stuff in the vein of tear in my heart but nah not really representative of the album
dysthymia - i only listened to this because it was icelandic, and it was already but not really that special
vattnet viskar - this is pretty cool though. i don't feel one listen does it justice but i like what i heard

Alright, I picked the first batch of roulette albums, at least one of every round (not necessarily the highest rated song) is in here, also the Pink Floyd album since splent recommended it, and the Ayreon album, even though that song didn't score amazing, I was already interested in the album, and I think listening to a single song off THE probably takes it waaay out of context.
Not sure how long it will take me to give these a listen, I hoped to be able to do it before The Astonishing got released but with the final round coming up and other stuff that's not gonna happen. Will report back after I've formed some opinions on these.

people on this board are actual music fans who developed taste in music and not casual listeners who are following current fashion trends and listening to only current commercial hits.
