Foreign First Impressions

1. Stadler-Sting Very pleasant and smoothest Spanish in the round so far.

2. I thought Sabaton was banned

3. This was pleasant but it was over before I knew it.

4. Lots to like here, but is the whole greater than the sum of its parts?

5. Lonestar-Dreamcatcher This could possibly be the best thing you’ve sent so far.

6. I didn't realize Voivod was Romanian.

7. Lithijazzoshpere-Night Crowned There’s a lot I like about this.

8. A bit choppy but this dude has some pipes.

9. Wolfking-Falconer Wow, that was excellent.

10. This is fun metal

11. Wow, what a chorus.

12. This is quite dynamic.

13. Jingle.Boy-Syu This is pretty safe, but it does channel Michael Schenker

14. Nick- Heroes Del Silencio Musically it has great pace and is quite nice. Vocally…

Well, it didn't fit the theme I set myself, but also folk metal is pretty close to power metal which you're picky about, so I'm not sure I'd have sent it anyway.

What’s your favorite of theirs? I love the whole Senderos de Traicion, really…there were plenty of choices from that one. Entre Dos Tierras has an epic feel to it that I thought could work…

Oh, once you get used to the vocals everything else is great. I like his vocals as well, but I understand why people might be turned off by them.

Yeah, Senderos is a great album. Lately I've been listening to El Espiritu Del Vino and Avalancha more. La Apariencia No es Sincera, Flor de Loto, Avalancha, Dias de Borrasca and Nuestros Nombres have been on my regular playlist lately. If I had to pick a favorite though, it would be Heroe de Leyenda or Opio

I've got a lot of listening in, and I'm even starting to scratch out some writeups on songs I'm pretty sure about.

Pretty comfortable with my rankings as well. It pained me to give some of these songs 7's, and even a couple of 6's. But this round is pretty strong, and The Ranker is being a bitch.

Should be ready to post Sister Song Comparisons tomorrow afternoon, most likely after Ariich goes to bed.
